about a month ago i bought a 2012 plug in from car max.had just under 17000 miles. cost is $16999 which i thought was pretty good. it was from new york city so i expected dings and bumps but looks pretty good. anyway, for the first week i could not charge it because the cord was missing. carmax got a new cord (for almost $7oo!!!!i saw the invoice) my mileage went from the fifties to lower 70s. i had an outside box put on the side of my house. no....only 110 volts instead of 240. but since it takes less than 3 hours to charge no big deal. cost $100 including parts and installation. i could not be happier.i live within a few miles of work so this is great!. next week im getting new shoes for elvira. even though the energy saver a.s. would probably be best for mileage im getting michelin defenders for long life, handling etc at the cost (perhaps) of a few mpgs. even though ive had several prii in the past, im loving this the best of all. im going to daytona for a week next month so i expect my 70-80 mpgs to drop drastically to about 50 on the round trip of over 1200 miles. anyway, just had to go on about elvira for sure
and elvira got some new shoes.....just got a set of michelin defenders a couple of days ago. i knnow many have mentioned less gas mileage. but the reviews are good and it definitely handles better. so far have not notice any decline in mileage but its mostly because im running in the all electric mode since i live fairly close to work. we will have the big test when i go to daytona next month. so far happy happy.
ohhhh, and found something i did not realize. instead of getting in the car to see if it is fully charged, just look at the little light by the filler/charger cap.if its out, its fully charged. pretty cool...
Reminds me of Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, horror hostess from the 80's! Love the name. Elvira, Mistress of the Dark (official)
yeah, thanks. i name all my cars. elvira just hit me. so i came up with it being short for electric vehicle running around (or something like that)
