I need to replace my 2002 Prius' inverter pump and I have read that there have been significant improvements in the inverter pump from gen1 to gen2. The output and input diameter seem compatible, but I am unsure of the electrical compatibility.
Hmm? Well, that part does not fail that often so it might be over kill. Why not just replace with OEM and be done with it for another 100K miles? The after market may fail sooner but even then I think it will out last the existing HV battery. My 2 cents
Near as I can tell, it is the mounting bracket attached to the pump that changed between the Gen-1 and Gen-2 pumps. Mounting the pump to the frame would be the challenge. Bob Wilson
One way to get a good deal on OEM parts is to check on ebay. Some dealers will sell there cheaper than you can buy it at your local dealership.
