Hi guys. Does anyone know a good dash cam they can recommend? My Prius C got dented over the weekend by a motorcycle whose rider took off. I'm in the market now for dash cam. Preferably one that can record license plates clearly.

Sorry to hear bud. I know the feeling and eventually went nuts with the dash cam idea. I have this for the front camera:
DriveEye High definition 3mp dash cam vehicle recorder US
It doesn't block much of the windshield, video quality was clear, 1080p record, as well as wifi if you care.

I've been thinking about getting a dashcam for quite some time now, looking forward to seeing what others recommend. Ideally I'd like something that doesn't stick out too much so it doesn't attract thieves. I thought about the BlackVue models, but they are a bit pricey.

Pardon me for asking, but how did a motorcycle dent your car?

I was stopped at a red light, motorcycle behind me tried to split the gap between me and the car next to me. Gap was tight, so a part of his bike dented my wheel well.

I use an A118-C. Very reasonably priced at $52 on gearbest.

Can you post where you mounted it because the Prius C has these black dots on the windshield near the mirrow so if the A118-C was mounted there it'd have black dots blocking it's view. Also if you use the car lighter socket, how do you charge anything else besides the super slow charging USB port near the aux in?

Just make sure the lens is below the black dots. I use a 4-USB socket charger that plugs into the car lighter socket. To power the camera, you can use a USB to mini USB cable.

The camera doesn't need the lighter socket adapter to charge it? It can work/record with just USB cable to USB port in the car?

This is a capacitor based model, so no battery to charge (or heat up or catch on fire). It only works when the USB powers it.

Most of the 1080 do a good job. Check Amazon feedback and reviews I installed front dash and rear hatch camcorder this weekend. Wires a 12v outlet to the back.
