Two things I have just noticed on my '09 with aprox. 120,000 miles.
    • Starting at about 45 mph, I am getting a humming noise
    • Doesn't get louder as speed goes up either, stays the same 45-75 mph
    • Have Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 tires, did rotation, noise did not change location
    • Noise does go away gradually when slowing down to a stop (after I have reached 45)
    • I am deaf on my left side, this is hard to tell where it is coming from
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Second is this really odd brake pedal clink / pop noise
    • When brake pedal is depressed fully to the floor, car ON or OFF, there is a clunk
    • See attached links to the noise
    • I have no idea what this is...
    • Brake pads / rotors are like new, plenty of life on them
    • I did have the inverter pump replaced per the recall (I read somewhere this could be related?)

Road humming noise can be caused by worn tires. Either you have a bad alignment or bad shocks. That can wear your tires where they will make a humming noise at higher speeds.

Forgot to mention the date I did the tire install, November 2013 at aprox. 95,000 alignment done at this time too. Rotations at every oil change since.

25000 miles of wear can definitely make noise if they're worn down due to bad alignment or shocks

Next step is to have alignment checked at Toyota. I did do a quick visual on the suspension with everything apart. Nothing looked like it was leaking (I know that a shock / strut can go bad without leaking).

Brake pop might be caused by poorly lubricated caliper slide pins, which causes the caliper to "pop" closed when it finally has enough hydraulic pressure to overcome the friction of the unlubricated/rusted slide pin

I will check this out this weekend, I know I have never done any caliper maintenance to date.

Took everything apart, down to getting any rust buildup off. Cleaned and lubed everything properly.

Bottom caliper slid pins (both sides) were "worse" than the top before lubing them up. Braking seems to have improved so that's a plus.

However, the noise is still there.... The car brakes perfectly fine and no hanging up or anything so I guess I may have to live with it?

did the noise still persist after time, or did you ever figure out what it was? i have what sounds like the same issue. i am just hoping it is not the power brake booster.
