Feedback on Chiezy's Projector Fog Lights

Two years ago I purchased the OEM Toyota fog lamps for my C. Within 12 months I managed to take a rock to the driver side lamp and bust out the lens.

A replacement lens was more than the cost of an Ebay kit, so I decided to give the cheapo kit a shot.

This kit was made of much thinner plastic and the beam adjustment actually moved the whole body up and down as compared to only the reflector moving with the OEM lights.

I only installed the new driver's side lens and days later my passenger lamp took a rabbit hit and broke the mounting tab on the light and the entire shroud was cracked. I was glad I had purchased the whole cheapo kit, as now I needed to replace the passenger's side lens and mounting shroud.

Not sure why (using 19w bulbs)... but the driver's side lens melted in the middle, casting a black shadow in the light beam.

Cut to Monday late in the evening... I found the thread on the projector lenses that Chiezy has for sale. I PM'd him and set up payment. Thursday morning the postman dropped off a well packed box with my new projectors. Friday after work they are now installed. I took a few pictures of the three different lenses for comparision and also the look after they were installed. You can check the other threads for beam pattern pics and light comparison, etc. I just wanted to post that Chiezy delivered a quality product in a timely manner as promised.

 

I went with the Innovited AC 55W HID. I bought two sets... the second set I installed in my low beams. I also did the 9005 to 9011 conversion for the high beams. I'll try and get a few pics of the beam patterns from all the above, but I bet they don't turn out as good as the pics from the other thread. I will say that I have much, much, much better vision now. The cutoff is amazing and not one person has flashed me yet. Compared to other vehicles on the same country road I drive, the light beam travels about four times the distance and about double the width. If my dash cam captures this effect, I'll post up a video this weekend.

 

The housing is stamped 55w, the 55w was close in price and I was trying to get some serious light down the road. I'm in the Texas Panhandle and when I'm heading to work I am on some dark back roads. My Geo Metro was totaled when I hit a deer on my morning commute. So, overkill.... maybe for city driving, no such thing as overkill in the backwoods.

Messed up editing a bit, but it's just a video for lights, so... this is what you get. The first pickup that you see actually had brighter than factory lights. Chiezy's fogs still cast a shadow across his headlight beams. I clipped a couple of time frames that showed the cut off and also the brightness compared to other vehicles on the road. The final stretch on the video is where I lost my Geo Metro (RIP) to a surprise attack by a deer coming out of the ditch..

 

Just wanted to clear a few things up, before misinformation runs amok....

Chiezy's lights say 55W HID right on the housing. He also stated "The base is also metal to withstand heat. These are made specifically for HID's."

The bulb installed in the previously posted image of the damaged lens WAS a 19w H16 bulb. I believe that lens was damaged due to the inferior build of the ebay kit. It probably would have exploded off the front of the car if an H11 had been installed.
