Was told unlike Gen 2, Gen 3 does not have this test mode!
I see several Multimeter Battery Tester models on Amazon, but which one to buy?.
    Thanks!

My 2010 with106k miles on it is still on it's original battery. Never any issues starting, not even after sitting for a week+.

I replaced the original 12V battery on my Gen II about a month ago, my Gen II has nearly 108,000 miles on it now! The symptoms of the battery failure came on very suddenly! (…be warned!)

For your purpose everything should work, I would buy $20 with many good reviews.

I think checking battery should be simple:

    1. Push power button once.
    2. Turn lights.
    3. Measure by voltmeter (access is simple)

If 12.1-12.X V then it's ok. Anything wrong?
