If anyone owns, or when someone purchases, a new 16' Prius, we would like to know what model, how much you paid and how do you like it?
Just doing KRMCG's docs right now... wow, what a beautiful car he's got. Ok OK I am envious. I'll let him post pics.
$500 under MSRP is nothing. I have a quote for Invoice + an extra $500 off through Costco Buying Program.
How would the dealership make money then? Isn't invoice price the price the dealership buys the cars?
They get something called a hold back which is kind of like a rebate that makes their actual cost lower than the invoice price. They hope that you don't know about it. They also make money on trade-ins, financing, dealer added accessories, extended warranties, etc.
Given the 'brew ha-ha' Toyota did for the first USA fuel-cell buyer, I suspect we'll see a Toyota press release for the first 2016 Prius buyer. Actually, I was thinking Monday of the Detroit Auto Show might a good day. But there is a hard limit, Super Bowl. It does no good to have an expensive commercial if there is no local stock. I skipped the 3rd generation Prius - so my comments will be generation 2 comparison to generation 4. Here is a list - less than 24 hours after pickup. Positives: SEATS On the 15 mile drive in stop and go traffic from Carson to Whittier, the car reported 88 MPG! lane keep assist laser cruise control great graphics on the displays SEATS! steering wheel muliple adjustments HUD is fantastic - shows speed limit as well as MPH storage area for "roller cover" (I had always left it at home bescause it got in the way, now it will always be available) heated seats four automatic windows additional data (eco score) presented after each trip taken four trip settings on odometer 12V battery in engine compartment satellite radio with weather and traffic eco air conditioning SEATS!! Negatives: loss of three of the five storage compartments uneven storage area when rear seats are folded center console storage is just one big bucket area no spare tire Give me a while and I will come up with more...
