I just bought a 2015 prius c one a couple of days ago. How would I get leather seats installed? It would be great if they could be heated as well. I like the car for the most part but it seems a bit blah on the inside. I want to spruce it up. Dont dealers usually charge more? I am sure someone has done this before. Any recommendations on what looks best?
I has clazzio + $50 ebay seat heaters (hi-lo buttons)...my butt is liking it in these wintry cold weathers
My 2nd winter now in Wisconsin, just haven't bothered updating my location. But yeah, those $50 carbon fiber seat heaters are pretty easy to install and use, so far so good.
Do what I did, find a wrecked/totalled Prius C4 from a junkyard/ebay/craigslist and just purchase the softex "leather" seats and swap em, got these for $200 each within my city, I've seen em sell lower so try to haggle. The C4 seats have more padding and are much firmer than the C1 cloth seats (not to mention much easier to clean especially with dog hair, and they make the interior look more refined or less cheap). I spent 30k miles on the cloth and the final 2k miles really started to kill my back since I'm now driving longer hours because of work. Immediately I noticed a difference with the C4 upgrade, at 6'1" I keep the seat lowered all the way and it's far more comfortable than the non-vertical adjusting C1 seats. I may wire up the seat heaters when winter rolls around but SoCal is never cold. Keep your eyes peeled on: Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market That's where I found mine. You could always go with clazzio's, but they are gunna cost 500-600$ and still won't fix the lack of padding/lack of vertical adjust on the C1 seats. Also they can take weeks in production. Just note that if you do swap your seats out, you will need to use a toyota diagnostic tool to re-calibrate the seat weight sensors. I purchased a 20$ MINI VCI diagnostic USB cable/software that runs "techstream" so I don't have to pay Toyota 100$ to "diagnose" my problem, then another 100-200$ to fix it. It's honestly a good idea to have one if you own a Toyota anyways.
Clazzio Leather seats come with extra foam attached to the covers, so you do get additional padding. I have no issue with the C1 seats and actually prefer them to the C2,C3,C4 seats. If you buy a solid color from Clazzio there is no wait time, only if you order a custom look will it take longer.
clazzio also have heated panel kit for the leather seats. I had mines on my 2015 C3 and it works great. Only grip is the rear seats. the holes for the seatbelt left to be desire.
