I would prefer not to get one that attaches to the windshield. Does anyone have a model they can recommend? I bought a Koomus mount for the CD slot, but I don't care for it. To make it fit I have to use one of the attachable clips and it still doesn't seem like a good, solid fit. The other day I accidentally knocked it off and thought the attachable clip got lost in the CD slot. It didn't, but until I found it on the floor the next day, I thought my CD player was ruined. Any help is appreciated!
I very much like my "proclip". it attaches to the dash just above the a/c vent to the right of the steering wheel. unfortunately, it is pricey for a plastic clip, but it works perfect, and will not fall off once its properly tightened. it positions the phone in the best place for me when I'm using waze.
I have an iottie which I'm using... But I'm about to get one of these: Amazon.com: iOttie Easy One Touch XL Windshield Dashboard Car Mount Holder for iPhone 6s Plus 6s 5s 5c, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus S6 S5 S4, Note 5 4 3, Google Nexus 5 4, LG G4: Cell Phones & Accessories My 6plus is in an otterbox commuter case. It barely fits in the clips. Given that the xl is under $20 it's a no brainier to upgrade. iPhone ?
This is the one I bought 2 years ago for my Samsung Note 3 which is probably close in size to your phone. Insignia Vehicle Mount for Most Cell Phones Black NS-MVMU5 - Best Buy I use it with the airvent attachment on the passengers airvent in the middle of the car. It was working great until my wife leaned on it and yanked it down (breaking the clips that held it onto the airvent)
Just got my new iottie xl mount I have it set so the phone is just to the right of the MFD, the 12v plug is right below, and the patch cord for the auxiliary input isn't too obnoxious. The mount uses a renewable suction cup and is quite "flexible". iPhone ?
After a couple of weeks I'm about to switch back to the old mount. The new one releases too easily & I've had the phone fall several times.
I have always been using proclip in all my cars and I have been very happy with the clean look of their holders iPhone ? http://www.proclipusa.com I just ordered myself the one in the pic - then you add and iPhone 6 Plus holder / or whatever phone you have
I bought the Spigen magnetic vent mount and matching case for my 6S (not the plus). Love it -- solid when the phone's mounted, discrete when it's not.
gotta love the proclip (but not the price). solid mount, and most importantly, doesn't block the vent.
isn't it unfortunate, that on the gen IV, we're still going to have to come up with these rube goldberg solutions?
that would be nice, but not counting on it. look at it this way, someday, you may be in the market for a 2016, and it still won't have a phone holder.
