A bit disappointed in the 2016 specs

will a self driving car change the tyre itself?

 

My 2013 comes off lease in June. It was almost a given that I was going to get the 2016 Prius. I test drove a 2016 Touring Civic (top model) and was blown away with everything. It truly looks like an Acura and the interior is very well put together. I also loved all the safety features. A nice thing is that even if you buy their cheapest model, you can still get all those safety features. One thing I'm really annoyed at is that in order to get blind spot warning in the 16 Prius, you have to get the top of the line model. That's dumb! I realize the Prius will get MUCH better gas mileage. I'm going to test drive the Prius as soon as it's available. If it rides as well as the Civic it's going to be a very hard decision. Meanwhile, I still have my 04 Prius with 249,000 miles. Still runs/drives great. Amazing car.

Doesn't the Gen 4 come with Toyota roadside assistance? if so, no spare tire needed! I'm not changing a tire on the side of the road, I'll call AAA or roadside assistance but that's just me.

 

Maybe in another decade they'll ax the pump kit?

What does AAA do, when you're sitting by the side of the road without a spare.

How the hell are you going get AAA to change the tire when there's no tire to change to. You're gonna call them so they can put the fix-a-flat in the tire for you?

 

I doubt a can of fix-a-flat can fix this. I called road assistance and they changed my flat tire. I too it to my mechanic. He plugged the tire but it was still leaking. I took it to the tire shop. They patched it up with a heavy duty tire repair patch plug combo

 

Even slow cars can be fun to drive. It's all about the feedback you get from the car and the playfulness of the car.

As a civic driver you must have experienced this. Civics are fun to drive. Drove a gf's corolla once: I wanted to abandon it and walk it was so bad.

 

Yes the Civic was fun to drive !
0-100 kmh /0-62 mph in 8.9 sec. and it stayed glued to the road when cornering fast and top speed was 128 mph, but that doesn't mean the Prius is no fun to drive .
BTW the Civic was noisier than the Prius going at high speeds up to 170 kmh on the Autobahn .
Although I was hoping for a bit more hp in gen. 4 I don't really care about if it takes the car 9 or 10.5 sec. to get to 62 mph .
That doesn't really take much time of my life away,but what's really important to me is passing power and the Prius,doesn't fail on that one,believe it or not it even beats other much higher hp-equipped vehicles in this category or at least is even !
That's because you have immediate power in the Prius whereas other vehicles lose time having to shift down first .
People are very surprised the way the Prius takes off overtaking someone!
I guess the Prius is just a different kind of fun to drive .
What I really miss about my 2006 Civic though is it's "magic seats" and it's huge cargo space !
Never seen anything better in that kind of catagory cars !

 

yeah, HSD is great overtaking on the highway. even my gen 2 takes off like a rocket when you floor the accelerator going 90 kph.

personally I like thrust from 0... I'd be willing to give up some mpgs and reliability to be able to dump the entire battery into the electric motor from a stop.

Heaven nor hell could know the truth behind what those people could possibly have been thinking, evolving their once revolutionary hybrid concept into an unholy genetic abomination, down-syndrome elements insulting the aesthetics of their Gen IV offering. Roughshod 21st century contemporary equivalent of the Edsel of hybrid vehicles, however improved it may be, arguably so, the Gen-IV Prius is stacking up to be Toyota's ugliest vehicle ever made.

Well Toyota must have done something right for Hyundai copying the gen. 3 Prius !
