You have a couple options. Reportedly PiP's in CA are in high demand due to HOV incentives, adds as high as $4000 on a new PiP. Other parts of USA are having used PiPs selling for low prices. I am thinking you can apply for HOV stickers. In 2012 many in Ca went to MD for cheaper new PiPs, and shipped or in some cases drove home. I assume used cars can do that too.

New PiPs will be hard to come by as they stopped production. Used PiPs are not in high demand at the moment as the HOV decal limit was increased and we are not near the new maximum.

You can find used 2012/2013 PIPs with HOV stickers in California for around $16k, but the price continues to drop.

Or buy out of state for around $14k and that price also continues to drop.

With gas prices continuing their decline, hybrids/electric vehicles are not in demand hence the continued steep discounts and availability of these type of vehicles in the market. Basically, no one wants them and are steering towards SUVs, crossovers, etc. And it is a buyer's market.

If you go the out of state route, you can still get the HOV sticker for $8 in California. There are plenty available and not rare as the BS dealer claim they are to be.

If you decide to buy new, wait until 2016, as california is expected to increase their rebate to, if I remember correctly, $3,000 or $3,500, plus the federal tax credit of $2,500. That is on top of any manufacture rebate or dealer discount.

Right, state rebate/fed tax credit for only new, however, there are additional rebate/credit programs in California that can be applied to any used hybrid/EV vehicles, not just prius' (but that is another story).

The HOV stickers are still available. You can apply for them in California without a dealer. The cost is $8.00.

2015 PIP new are still available for sale.

New PIp2: don't know when available.

Plenty in the Bay Area. I thought about doing the same but can't come to grips with another car payment. What is your price range?

Like I mentioned earlier, my uncle and friend bought a 2014 prius plug in base, blizzard pearl for about 24,800 after rebates. I would like something like that or better.

Check out Toyota Town in stockton. They have a nice advanced in grey though but low miles and based on how long they've had it I'm sure they'd be willing to part with it for less than their asking

    Fone ?
