Perhaps go to the first post and edit the title to something less antagonistic (i.e., 'Not sexy'.) Then be specific about what offends your sense of style. If that is too hard, post a photo of what you think it should look like. The community will be quite happy to analyze. Bob Wilson
i was thinking the exact same thing. inflammatory was my first thought. i have no problem with agreeing to disagree.
No questions the Gen4 design is polarizing but it doesn't do any good to regress in discussing it. Using words like ugly, haters, etc not gonna help let's be civil.
Strongly disagreed with the OP. Prius Generation 4 is one of the best-looking cars Toyota has ever designed, far better-looking than any other previous Prius model.
The first poster has a "Thread Tools" pull-down that allows editing the thread title. Very handy for those who like me are speeling challenged. Bob Wilson
A tidbit of info that affects resale of my 2011 Prius: For brand new 2015 Prius liftbacks at only two of many large dealers in SF Bay Area, there are 221 units for sale at Fremont Toyota and 358 at Sunnyvale Toyota and I'll bet they have huge discounts. I call that high supply low demand and sliding on your a$$ into the new model / year. Could take a freakin' year for those to sell down.
I guess and i wish the large quantity of negative feedbacks about the styling of the 4th Generation Prius could push Toyota for some revision of the styling. I disagree that everyone doesn't like it should stay silent, is not the wide negatives comments on the boring Honda Civic that accelerate first a face-lifting and then a new model? And for sure, this is not the only case of fast change in styling direction in the car industry due to negative customer feedbacks.... Is it more convenient for a car builder to have a drop in sales and not to realize why? And, as someone pointed out already, is it correct to call "haters" people that already owns and enjoys Toyota hybrids?
I think it is already happening I read some rag reviewer for Toyota saying they are replacing white trim pieces around cupholders with black, so practically wins even if it's a tiny bit. But you are correct they can't stop the train at this point so the changes will be very minor. The real hope is facelift. If protests continue and sales tank it may speed up facelift. The only way the could make the change now if they had 680A production ready and they haven't started buildup.
That's what the mid-cycle update and gen-5 is for. It's an endless process. People's preferences change over time anyway. The key is to give constructive feedback. Simply complaining is quite common and doesn't accomplish anything. Detail is needed.
it's not the complaining or negative comments, it's the repetitive posting by the same embers which is not constructive.
you mean like yours? Or you don't count because you haven't posted anything specific or constructive in a first place?
A ton of people must have complained about the center gauge position, instead of placing it on the driver's side, but Toyota still stuck to that annoying decision with the new model... I just bought my current Prius, so I won't be needing another till Gen 5 or 6, but FWIW, personally, I'm warming to the 2016's design, it looks great from the side and certain angles, and choice of paint probably matters (dark colors...though white looks great too), can't wait to see them on the road soon.
Maybe we should start a list? My contribution to the list is the exterior styling especially rear door and 3/4 panel, tailfins and overall infusion of edges front which look like afterthought midnight hack job. Lost of 2nd glove compartment, lost of spare and trunk underfloor storage, lost of rear legroom. Miniscule MPG gain, broken 20% weight reduction promise. Can't give more without taking for a test drive
