Grillcraft installation - protection from stones

    Yes I got the upper set too, easier to install than the large lower one. Instead of grinding the inner upper grille bar so I could attach the new one, I made 2 cuts in the material and simply bent back the grille, like a tab, put in the mounting screw and then bent the tab I made back in line with the OEM grille bar.

    I thought you had a blue car with the silver grille or was that someone else' car in the DIY?

    As much as it pains me physically and financially to do it, I will be removing the black ones and ordering a second silver set.Since the grille is powder coated , I would never be able to get the same durable finish if I was to repaint mine silver.

    So at some soon point my 3 black grille(s) will appear on eBay at a reduced price.

    Yes, I do have a metalic blue car and the silver looks great with it. My friend has the Barcelona red car and I'll be doing his grille after Christmas. I'll post some pictures of that project too once it's done. I think you will like the silver grille and best of luck on re-selling your black set on eBay.

    Great job! It looks much better than the black version. I'll post pics of my friend's red Prius with the silver Grillcraft once it's done (just after Christmas).

    greg: I'm sure the red paint and the silver grille will really stand out, anxious to see it.

    Changing it out was a snap only took me 1 hour total to make the change. Shows the quality of the grille, in that the holes lined up perfectly with the black one previously installed..
