For those of you in Canada and the northern US, time to add air to your tyres. As the temperature drops the air shinks/pressure drops. Pearl S was down to 34-35 LBS. I had 40 front and 38 rear in there during the summer. Aired back up to 44 front and 42 rear (the temp is about to drop a lot more).

Oh, and yes, you want proper pressure in your tyres. It helps them to clear the snow out of the treads as you drive.

Those who don't know what "snow" is, never mind. ;)

Thanks for the reminder. One really should check one's tires at least once a month.

43PSI all around here, though I check the summer tires on my MINI Cooper S more often for weekend twisties (and lower PSI haha).

Thanks, David. Don't forget to send a personal reminder to Roger Goodell, the commissioner of the NFL

Another good time to check your pressures: when you've been to the *%$! dealership.

Had the CRV in for service Saturday and the TPMS light came on Monday. Tires were at 23psi, door calls for 30 in all 4. Pumped to 35 and holding....one of my pet peeves is deflating the tires in for service when it's been driven for 15 minutes giving a false reading...Prius was at 32 and 28 now at 38/36.

Because TPMS isn't accurate enough to give you optimal tire pressure*. It only goes off when you are critically low.

    * unless you overfill, set your TPMS, and then deflate to proper pressure.

With helium, you'd better check weekly. Or even daily. Ever notice how fast rubber balloons with helium go flat and sink?

Don't forget to check the spare too. You will want those 60psi when you need them.
