I like the way you think good sir! I plasti-dipped mine a few months back along with a few other side walls. Definitely re-doing a bunch of cosmetic mods.

this is what it looks like put together. Headunit is a little ugly, but not replacing until I can find the one I want... its hard to find the USDM one..

wasn't sure if this question was for me. but if it is, you put a glossy clearcoat on top afterwards. It has a matte finish if you dont. But the glossy clearcoat they give you is pretty durable and I put around 4-5 coats to make it extra slick.

Hey @Starbrand, you're calling this dipping, but that carbon fiber pattern looks like a wrap to me.
I could be tempted to try something like this out for a G-Sport look:

im actually fixing it to be more realistic, VIDEO and more pics soon! :D but for now, here are the Blizzak's I'm putting on very soon to get ready for our unpredictable snow... is going to be wider than the Primacy's the FRS wheels come with, so it should hypothetically flush my back end.

EDIT: update on redoing automotive gloss. Several coats...

Go for it @Dylan Doxey. Since I have to redo my headlights, I was kicking around the idea of hydro dipping just the 3 projector bezels and color matching the rest. Just can't find the perfect pattern. You see what a great job @Starbrand did with his dash pieces, the possibility are endless.... (y)

Knocked out a couple new light mods recently (rear cargo hatch and signal mirrors) and about to install my REMIN Ebony Zebra Wood interior now.

Will pair this with the perforated suede DASH mat I picked up from the dealer and the CF Stage10 shifter & CF JDM steering wheel. Hoping to extinguish some of that cold plastic feeling before the winter strikes!! (y)

its almost as if my 5-month modding break did nothing but build up a to-do list!

didnt know what to do with the chrome mirror garnish that came with @ncases mirrors... so instead of putting them up for sale or tossing them, I just experimented and painted them green. They are not on permanently, just balanced them on there for a pic, then took them off for now...
    [IMG][IMG]

found a super cheap $26 rear window spoiler so I can finally do the rear spray delete. might hydro dip it or leave it unpainted for now until Summer. [IMG]

and as of right now... jdm tail light baking is going good so far...

    Hey Fam, it's been awhile!

    My next DIY project...
Refinishing and polishing the lips on these classic JDM Weds Kranze ERM wheels 17x7 +32

I don't own an Impact gun to remove all the torx bolts and the inner barrel poked in a bit giving me trouble with my 1/2 drive sockets fitting. I ended up using a 3/8 drive 12mm socket and attached a wobble extension to it which was connected to a 3/8 drive breaker bar to loosen the nuts. It worked! The lips have a few rashes and scratches and some minor clouding and oxidation from being in storage in Japan, so wish me luck!

I may change the center color and have them professionally powdercoated to a hyper black type of color for a little bit of a dark contrast and some shine to go along with the lips. I will keep you guys posted

I would like to have the centers powdercoated as close to the look of the centers on the Work VS-SS wheels pictures as an example below.

Test fitting them a few weeks ago.

HiYa Ramtart, what kind of prices are you being quoted to powdercoat a rim in NoCal? I am being quoted $70 per rim locally here in SoCal. Price doesn't include dismount/mount, over night on rack, or re-balance.

Ramtart, those are gonna look good when finished!! el Crucero, I'm in the process of having my wheels re-barreled and refinished right now. I paid $75 a wheel to powdercoat the faces. New barrels are running $190 for outer and $205 I believe for inners (I have Work Meister S1 3-piece wheels).

Here's a snap of the newly re-barreled fronts (18x8.5 w/ 2" lip). Right now they've got 215/40 on there, but I'm gonna test fit some 225/40 rubber on there and see if I like the look better. Rears are gonna come in at 18x9 w/ 2.5" lip. Originally I had a square 18x8 setup.

Finished up the REMIN interior install I purchased crom CarID. Quite the project if you're meticulous. Not difficult, just time consuming. I've got some pieces left over, but not certain I want to use them just yet (ie. silver tabs on the steering wheel, elsewhere).

Came out great and definitely feels a little more cozy in there now vs cold & plastic. I also slapped my DASH mat from dealer in as well (have to velcro it down still but you get the point). The dash mat is an ebony perforated suede.

Since I'm waiting on my new vanity plates (January), I slapped a WORK wheels vanity plate on the rear for the next few months.

Remin interior is the Ebony Zebra Wood option.

Lots of amazing wheels on this page. I need to step my game up.

Managed to finally get my fogs working thanks to @sfv41901 @ncases and @Starbrand for their help along the way.
