Ok, so I like AutoLine Daily and posted this:

My username is linked to the last four months sales of hybrids, EVs and diesels from Jeff Cobb’s excellent dashboard report. We are not seeing a September bump although there were two bright spots:

Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep – model
    2800, 1800, 1600, 2400 – Tesla Model S
    551, 935, 792, 1710 – BMW i3

Everything else is pretty much flat-lined. The Prius is waiting on the 2016 and the new VOLT killed September sales. But Chevy needs a better, VOLT campaign as the Prius conquests were two years ago.

Chevy needs the VW ad agencies from the last 5-6 years. Make the customer smile and they will remember and come take a peek. That ‘battery technology’ commercial is a real loser as the ones who know don’t believe it. Worse, the ones who don’t, can’t understand it.

Prius is really doing fairly well considering the new model coming out and low gaso prices. It's only down 13% I think on the Liftback. Gotta think next year might be really hot sales with the new model, barring any unexpected negative events.

gonna need higher gas prices. honestly, if i didn't love the tech and environmental benefits, i'd be driving a gasser at 2 bucks a gallon.

what is 2 buck gas equal to historically, inflation wise, 1920?

It won't be long before gas is back up. Remember a year ago this time you could easily add a buck or more to the price of gas as compared to what it is today.

Enjoy the low prices while you can.

I agree, I don't use much more than that now a days. The only time we do really is if we go out of town. This year the out of town trips have been almost nil.

Why is the hatchback Prius up ~10% over 2014 same month numbers for October? With gas down and a new model around the corner is it big discounts moving them along or was there a supply problem in 2014?

It could be a combination of big discounts plus people not wanting the looks of the new one. Yep, it happened to the F150 too, with big sales from people not wanting aluminum, then big sales of people wanting aluminum. Hopefully prius gen IV sells well, I think it will. I hope big sales through december, then probably slow until new one gets to the US. Begining of this year was week in january so it won't do bad comparatively.

    On the plug-in front.
Tesla released their production schedule. To reach their 50,000 goals they are going to have a big number in December for the US. Tesla made $39 M in the quarter on zev credits, and they sold 5400 in the US, at 4 credits per car that is about $1800/zev, but many teslas in the US did not earn credits so the number may be much higher.
Nissan was week in anticipation of the 30 kwh model. The gen II volt sold well for its first half of month of sales.
