    One last comment...I PROMISE.

    I don't think so.
First of all, it's a big open world. Oregonians travel, they know what it's like to pump their own gas, any time they go in any direction outside of the state.

Secondly, it's not a dictatorship here. In my lifetime we've had chances to vote down the ban, and as I've said, Oregon has not. The fact that given the choice, the majority of Oregonians continue to support the "Ban"...suggests to me that the majority of Oregonians are indeed happy with the way things are...if they were unhappy? We would of voted the ban out years ago. So being happy IS important.

Since there are only two states including Oregon that operate in such a manner, I do think someday the ban will be voted out, and Oregon will join the majority.

When this happens I can sit in the corner as an old man and tell stories about the "Good Ol Days" when you couldn't even pump your own gasoline if you wanted to do so......I'm sure it will bore the younger generation.

    Native Oregonian here.

I LOVE the no pumping your own gas law. I spent four years in Colorado and hated pumping the gasoline myself. First, I had to learn how, and once I learned, I truly hated it.

Now, I am in Iowa, I still hate pumping gasoline. How I miss Oregon's law. Seems the only people against it are the ones who move into Oregon. I have never heard a native speak ill of the law.

We are loving it. Well, not in Iowa...

I just wanted to be clear on what my initial post meant.
Full service is an option at some stations. How much more would you be willing to spend per gallon to use it?

Approximately where in Iowa are you located?

Through the magic of 'internet search engines', I'm finding a number of full service gas stations in that state. Maybe one is near you, so that you can exercise a choice?

Just got gas in NJ. Still had to get out of the car since there is a locking gas cap on the wife's car. I don't trust an attendant to unlock it without risk of snapping the key off, and it needs a double check to make sure it is fully on.
