I like the accent inserts...but the only colors they come in appear to be lime green...or pink?

Seems a little too 'trendy' to me.

I am curious to see if EPA rating went up to 53MPG, and if it did, what they did to get there.

I understand they need the bump to maintain parity with Gen4. Otherwise C will be a hard sell

Err, it's always been rated at 53 mpg city.

    I think they meant combined.

Numbers are not out yet we will have to wait

lol. Never assume what the news articles says unless it's explicitly mentioned. It's 53/46/50 city/hwy/combined. Media outlets can quote whatever number they want.

so basically everything that I can live without, and seems they're just there to jack up the price, zzz

Also, it will pretty much be in the normal prius price zone, not to mention even surpass it (nowadays just looking around w/ dealer incentives and low gas prices...a prius 2 can be found in the $18k...which is pretty much prius c, corolla, civic, etc...territory)

at those price points, I'd probably just get a regular prius for the mpg and space than a smaller cool'er (maybe?) looking car...I sometimes even regret buying a little prius c, when I have to go buy something big (was able to fit a 5.1 cu ft freezer, with seats down, lol) or haul people to/from the airport and they have a few luggage bags (I had to be the uncomfortable one for a hour's long trip to the airport, as my wife drove me, my daughter, and my sister to the airport to drop my sister off, gg, stuck between a folded seat and a car seat, lol)

Hi all. Just reading about the 2016 C. I currently have a 2008 Prius with 184,500 miles. The safety items are of interest as we currently put about 4,500 miles a month. Was thinking of giving my current Prius to my Office Manager to use. SwhitePC seems to not be hyped on the safety items. Any insight on why that is? For the safety I would love what the Tesla claims but I am not going to spend 24 years worth of car cost like that!

I am reading his posts and it sounds more like he isn't 100% happy with C in general, and for him Gen3 would have worked better. We own both Gen3 and C and C is more of single/no kids/commuter and regular Prius more of all-around/family car. Both overlap -60% in function, but given the same price regular Prius a better choice. In a way comparing C to Prius is like comparing Yaris to Camry if you know what I mean. Safety-wise they seem to reinforce driver-side end of the front bumper to engage on small offset crash, and IMHO fully loaded C costs as much as value-priced Prius, you are better off stepping up at that point.

Anyone know when it will be available in the US? How about a list of differences vs. the 2015 model? My lease is nearly up on my 2013 Prius C, and I haven't decided what I want to do for sure. Right now only 2015s are available locally.

As far as I could tell, there are no differences between the 2015 and 2016 Prius C except that the safety/tech package may be available as an option in 2016. That has things like cross path detection and some other features that I don't recall off hand. The MSRP are within $40 or so. We took advantage of Toyota's $1500 rebate and below invoice pricing and jumped on a sweet 2015 deal during the black friday sales.

I think Toyota lets you build and price a 2016 on their web site now.

A very large local New England Toyota dealer told me Saturday that they have no 2016 Cs in transit nor any allocation yet.

Interesting, Toyota Canada has TSS-C as standard equipment on the Prius c Technology (basically a c Four w/ Upgrade Wheel & Safety Package) for Cdn $26,890. However, it's only available on that trim whilst in the U.S., you can get it on Three and Four.

  16. Yup. The interior looks nice with the accents (reminds me of the Chevy Spark) but then the body of the rest of the car has to be black. (n)

Still has that ugly nose. Looked at them hard before buying the 2015 LB.
