Found this on YouTube...Stephen BEATTY, Vice President of Toyota Canada doing a very modest reveal of the 2016 Prius. Says it will be available in 6 colours and on sale sometime in the first quarter of 2016.

And we have yet another variation of the Prius in red. This one has a parcel shelf. The Las Vegas and Frankfurt ones have a tonneau cover.

No. This one has a parcel shelf. The LV car had a tonneau cover.

It also has no blue stitching or blue trim around the vents and no auto-dimming mirror.

The parcel shelf isn't I think intended as a shelf but as a different type of tonneau cover.
Opening automatically with the lift gate would be a plus.
Providing better containment of stray objects in a collision is a possibility depending on how its designed.
I wonder where you put it when you want to carry large objects?
For that matter, does the Gen 4 have a place to store a rolling tonneau cover?

    2nd look
Does this have openings at the sides that people can see through? If they are covered, How do you remove the covers?

6 colours. Well there'll be a black, white, silver, grey and red lol. What's the last colour? Green? That special UV paint that Japan gets? or that blue seen on the "Eco" models from the European photo gallery?

Yes, there is place to store the tonneau cover underneath the floor in US-spec models.

It's some sort of cardboard and it's rigid. You see in the video that there are strings attached to the parcel shelf so it lifts up when the hatch is open. That means I don't have to constantly retract and extend the cargo cover like I currently do on the Gen 2 or Gen 3.

"A new paint color, Hypersonic Red, gives what the company calls a "deep and vibrant luster" that highlights the new Prius's form. Seven colors will be available on launch."

Probably 2 Whites and some variation of Green.

I hope so... I'm interested in the green... I've never had a red car before, but the Hypersonic Red looks nice also.

Quite a bit of info, but still mum on KWh capacity.
    Gen III (from Wiki)
The 1.8-liter gasoline engine generates 98 hp (73 kW),
The electric motor generates a total of 36 hp (27 kW)
    Total 100 kW
    Gen IV from the table
    ICE 72 kW
    Electric 53 kW
    Total 125 kW
The battery has to be at least 2x the capacity, I would estimate. I'm guessing 3-4x.
I don't follow engine specs closely, so to our engine/motor experts out there, do these number agree with your current understanding?
