    I was curious about the Fiat 500 the Pope is riding around in:
    metric Fiat 500L Prius hatchback
    1 City 25 mpg 51 mpg
    2 Combined 28 mpg 50 mpg
    3 Highway 33 mpg 48 mpg
    4 fuel 13.2 gal premium 11.9 gal regular
    5 passenger 99 ft{3} 94 ft{3}
    6 luggage 22 ft{3} 22 ft{3}

    Nice package that would be so much better as a hybrid. At least it isn't a diesel.

    funny, someone on npr thought it was a nice eco statement. must have meant economical.

    if the italians made a hybrid, it would run on chianti.:cool:

    Compared to a massive, and possibly armored, stretch limo, it's both.;)

    If Toyota was Italian, it could have been a Prius.

    From one of the members of the EEVC: "This was a brilliant PR move by Fiat Chrysler. Fiat Chrysler has the contract for providing transportation for the Pope in N America, Pope Mobile as well as other trans."

    Interesting, but the 500 L competes with what: Compare Side-by-Side

    Honda HR-V Specs:

    Cargo Volume (cu. ft., mfr.) 24.3
    Maximum Cargo Volume (cu. ft.) 58.8
    Passenger Volume (cu. ft., mfr.) 100.1

    Even if there was an Italian Prius, the Pope's hat probably wouldn't fit in the back seat.
