Does the front seat fold down flat with the back seats?

My question also. It doesn't look like it from the still photos but I haven't looked at most of the video yet.

If true, this will create an industry for new floor inserts....

Is there still a false floor under there on the new gen or is that gone now? It would be crazy if there was still a false floor storage area under there that no longer makes the floor flat with the hatch opening and back seats when folded forward. If no owner-usable false floor storage or access, then what the heck is under there?

Does the back end of the car and hatch swoop down lower now and thereby necessitated a lower and now uneven floor in order to retain hatch storage height?

This means less room for a plugin battery there? I'm confused.

Don't shoot video in the vertical format...... o_O

Bummer about the non-flat hatch opening/floor. My guess is the PIP will be even.

I THINK the battery's under the rear seat. See post #11 here:

I'm mildly curious as to whether there's a spare back there. Just mildly curious, 'cause I'm holding my nose, lol.

I'm still amazed that people still do this. How many have their computer monitors or TVs placed on their sides?

The pictures are terrible. Crushed blacks showing almost nothing, no wide angle interior shots, noisy and blurry. Did everyone spend their own money to go but no one thought to bring anything but a useless iPhone or other cell phone camera? A lot of money and effort wasted.

Periscope's designed to be used vertically. Danny did the right thing.

Then don't use periscope. The car is horizontal, as are all of my screens.

Well, the lower cargo floor should increase cargo capacity which is always a good thing. So the load floor is 3 inches down from hatch sill. That is still much less than the drop down into a trunk. I heard they lowered the height of the spoiler, so the height of the rear window is lowered and they must have had to lower the load floor to retain cargo capacity.

Was the cargo deck locked? How come no one yanked that thing off to see what is underneath? Or did they?

They could have saved all their money on the trip to Vegas and bought an iPhone 6s instead...

No, the front seatback is taller or the seat bottom doesn't go far forward enough to clear the rear seat bottom.

No underfloor bin. You now get access to the full cargo area.

The silver car that Roman Mica had in his video has a spare. The other two did not.

No. It's foam holding the tools or spare tire then it's bare metal underneath. The foam is held down with clips.

Scanning around last night I ran across a source that claimed the lower load floor was a "bonus" of increased cargo space that comes with the Li-ion battery option, implying that NiMH models would have a level load floor. I've never been overly excited about Li-ion in a non-plugin anyway - I don't see "full green" on my battery meter often enough to believe the extra capacity would be worth it, and NiMH has proved to be extremely durable in hybrids, where state of charge can be managed to minimize battery wear (many surviving Prius Gen1s are still running on original batteries). For me, screwing up the trunk would definitely tip the scales against the battery "upgrade."

Alas, I have not been able to "re-find" that reference - can anyone with more direct access to reliable sources check this out?

Toyota didn't say anything officially, but we poked around and found that the models with the lower decks seemed to all have Li-ion, and the "raised" or "traditional" deck one had NiMH.
