Red is a nice colour for Gen4. I was expecting a bit more by way of specs.

Now is where the value of PC comes in, Danny and team give us more details and hires photos.

Maybe the actual presenter got injured when the plane caught fire at the airport.

I do not know. I really want to believe that they were strapped to their seats, suspended in that car, scared to death, for many frightening hours beforehand and then had to remain in the car for the even longer four-minute-long boring reveal.

Wut? No Toyota Prius dancers? No company song for the new generation?

Are they letting the audience get all over the car, sit in, take pics and all, open hood and hatch.

If it's like, no, off limits except for Toyota brass, ..... booooo. They traveled a long way to see.

Do they have more than one Prius there??? Need more than one for all those peeps to get a good look.

What a ridiculously lame introduction for "the" hybrid of hybrids. Disappointed by that and by he looks of the car. Guess I'll be staying with my 2012

I look down, and my socks are on my feet. Not unusual, but they were off my feet before the reveal. They must have crawled back onto my feet in those four minutes on their own, somehow. The last time I saw anything this lame was a year ago with Canon's "We See Impossible" campaign. Might be the same advertising agency. If so, fire them immediately.

I really hope, honestly, that the car itself is really really good to make up for this sad fiasco. Look, see, hear, touch, drive, specs; that's what we want, and it is what we expect. Toyota, you owe us this much. We've been waiting a very long (over)time and want to keep believing that the Prius line is still worthy of our attention. Give us some real love.

"Unfortunately, Toyota isn't giving us specifics of the powertrain or fuel economy of the new Prius. Fortunately, the company is making the previously rumored 10-percent miles per gallon improvement over the third-gen model official..."

Well, at least we learn that the new Prius will have front and rear parking sensors. That would suggest the addition of Blind Spot Monitoring and I strongly believe that the Automated Self Parking System is making a comeback. The reason I believe this to be the case is the addition of two Ultra Sonic Sensors on the side of the car. The front sensor is located ahead of the front wheel well opening and the rear is just behind the rear wheel well opening. I also notice 4 ultra sonic sensors mounted on the rear bumper and I saw at least two sensors on the front bumper. I would imagine that a new generation of Self Parking would include a pull out function and would rely on sensors rather than a camera to make it more intuitive for the driver. It also looks like the lane keep assist and lane departure warning camera was moved to the center of the windshield. I would imagine it is located in a module that houses the rear view mirror mounting point. I would hope that this module includes a rain sensor for the wipers. I did not see turn signal repeaters on the side mirrors, at least not on the section painted red. I noticed the mirrors are two toned, it could be that the turn signal repeaters are hidden in the lower section of the mirror cap. I am not sold on the wheels yet, I think I have to see them in real life. The lighting on the stage was not doing them any favors. I would love to see this car in Black Cherry Pearl, I think it would be an amazing color to see in the sunlight with all of those contrasting angles.

I'm 22, I'm optimistic, but their attempt at being 'sporty' has just totally DISAPPOINTED me. I didn't care about increasing sportiness, but, making the new Prius look like the ugly lovechild of a Honda Insight and a Chevy Volt is ridiculous. I am deeply upset by this fail. My 2012 is going to have to do for now until I decide to get a CMAX, Leaf, or Volt...

    Good news!

"Available premium white ornamentation in the lower sections of the cabin is reminiscent of fine bone china."

So, the nasty white accents are only available, not standard. Double wishbone suspension and LED headlights are standard.
