Are there only 6 presets total? I figured there'd be at least 6 for each band. Is this the worst radio ever or do I just not know how to use it yet?
I hoped that might be the case but it isn't very intuitive. Mazda gets panned for their infotainment but at least at first glance/touch it is much better than this.
I found the arrows. I haven't figured out yet how to scroll up/down. I see now it's 18xm and 12 each am/fm. That's more than enough.
You scroll up/down with the controls on the steering wheel. Trust me when I say this. The Prius is a complicated machine. It takes a while to absorb all of it. Take your time, don't rush things.
Yes, it's definitely more complex than a 1967 Beetle. I'll keep experimenting and eventually figure it all out, probably in 2021 or so.
This is our second Prius. It took me a year to figure out the Gen II. I am still learning about the Gen III we now have. Hope you won't be disappointed in the MPG with all your short trips.
To scroll through the presets with the steering wheel you would use the left hand controls, and the arrows up and down. Mode will switch you between AM, FM, SAT, and BT. + and - will raise and lower volume. Note if you rest your fingers on the buttons, they will illuminate on the dash when you are in "Ready Mode".
Yes, I have all 17 pounds of manuals here and have been studying them. Almost 900 pages, in the primary manuals, plus the secondary manuals is a lot to go through. It isn't all the most informative I've seen either.
I'll check when I am in the car again but suspect perhaps since I only have 6 buttons set it's not going to alternate pages because they don't yet exist. Now that I found them I presume it will scroll through them as well once I populate them. I'll know tomorrow when I'm out again.
Trust me, it will scroll right now. There is stuff in there, just not what you want... Try it and you will see what I am talking about.
Our 2010 Canadian Touring model doesn't have the new-n-improved display, life is simple. FM1and FM2 each accept 6 presets, and simpler to access. That's my wife's dept tho, alone in the car I just dial in CBC AM.
The 2015 steering wheel buttons are arranged slightly differently, but it's obvious when you look at it. One thing I like is that in addition to scrolling through the presets, the same two up and down arrow steering wheel buttons will go to the next numerical station regardless of the presets if you hold them down for a second. E.g., if you are on channel 6 and you want to go to 7, press and hold the up arrow for one second. Discovered by serendipity.
Mine has 36 presets ( 6 pages X 6 stations), and they are not tied to any particular band. While each individual page was initially set to a single band, my first page now has 1 AM, 2 XM, and 3 FM stations.
I kinda wish the steering wheel buttons just did seek, not jump to next preset. Or you could set that somehow.
when i press 'source' on the upper right of the screen, i get am, fm, usb, bluetooth, etc., but it doesn't matter whether i press am or fm, i get the last station it was on.
