Not surprised. Once while used car shopping (got a Camry), I test drove a couple gen II Pri and they felt worn out after stepping out of my 25k mile gen III.
Decided to give my boy the new 2015 Prius Four LB after all...although still in my name. While Plan A was to buy him a new more reliable car (although smaller) to replace the VW and Plan B was to buy myself a new car and pass down the 2010 Prius...in the end I combined them so to speak. I am better equipped to handle inevitable mechanical failures and costs on a +100K mile out of warranty vehicle here at home and it lessens the distractions while he earns his BS. Besides, I got such a good deal on the Adult Prius, the price difference against the comparably equipped Baby Prius was negligible.
True...but I could also rip it out and reinstall the factory base system (all components plug and play) in about 2 hours though. That was conditional by design for the custom install should/when I ever sell it. No...this was a Daddy decision...
Sounds like a good smart decision....plus if the kid has half a brain and a helluva lot more common sense than I had when I was in my twenties, then he should still be driving the 2015 when he's in his 30's.....with a dash of good luck. Depending on how far away the school is, the more dependable G3 will be useful for those trips home. I always tell my baby gurl that I have to be nice to her...... ......she's going to be picking my nursing home.
Well I know he's got more sense than I had at that age. I humbly suggest that genius skipped a generation.
Thank you everyone! He loves the new car. We followed him out to his new school to help get him moved in today. They DO grow up fast.
