Maybe they were just in a real bad wreck, and they are REALLY good with duct tape? .

The SAME car as in Thailand, as pictured a dozen times around LA. ....

Yet, we'll continue to hear -
'look at Toyota, parading around, flaunting their new camo car'
'that's not it, probably just any old mule testing the new drive train, cause, they don't have a car ready yet '

or 'ah man, it's not sporty enough, they blew it, should have been like NS4 or a two seater or a sedan' or

'it's still ugly' .... might as well say gen 3 Prius is even uglier cause the camo car looks better than gen 3.

The wheels are the same as the current car. But of course Toyota doesn't make them, so some -other- company could have just purchased a "test set" for the test.

So it took Toyota 6 years to come up with this? And the Prius Team were blown away when they saw it.

This mystery car that Toyota is so secretive about that they don't even wan't to officially announce its reveal date and yet we see a camouflaged car that looks like Gen 3 being driven around in various places. And some here are convinced its Gen 4 under all that tape.

I've lost interest, the brain cycles are better used elsewhere I think.

I'd like to know how you can possibly derive a conclusion based on black duct tape. You have absolutely no idea what the body design is aside from that it's a wedge shape, similar to the last two generations. You can't see the creases, the curves or any other intricate design detail.

Man, I didn't realise people had standards on camouflaged prototypes.

Moderators may have to identify in advance, members who are going to need pharmaceutical prophylaxis for anxiety before Autoshow unveilling of the next Gen Prius. :)

As for the anti fuel cell crowd members, they are going to throw a fit when they hear the FCV Mirai landed in California.

The fuel cell vehicle is a boondoggle, limited exclusively to Californians with an anticipated 3000-vehicle production forecast through 2017, one or two available filling stations, and a range that is slightly greater than that of a Tesla. Joke's on them.

Yep, only "slightly greater", 300? vs 312 for the Mirai!

12 miles is a drop in the bucket. Indeed, cold temperatures are an energy killer. Good thing neither you nor I have to worry about subzero temps, and with the gigafactory coming online in the coming years, it will become increasingly easier to manufacture larger and more dense packs to offset that concern even further. Meanwhile, you are absolutely confined to a few hydrogen oases with this hard-headed Toyota experiment, almost entirely dependent on public monies to build a costly infrastructure from scratch.

Let's show a little respect..at least they ordered a shark fin off the Prius Chat store.

(I'm talking about the OP post pic, but that Tesla gotta be making some CO2 in winter but 3 mile/kWhr is not too bad actually for winter...bet he had the heat off)

forbes is probably getting subsidized in some way. at the very least, they no doubt have some 'legitimate' tax deductions.

There was also an $8k hydrogen tax credit that just expired. I'm willing to bet we'll never see a return on those losses (as minimal as they might be, death by 1000 cuts coming to mind).

The camo car in OP does not look like a gen3 Prius. It looks similar to a Prius liftback, but not the same.
Toyota would be CRAZY to radically change the Prius look to satisfy a few Priuschatters and ruin sales of the best selling alternative fuel vehicle.

The exterior looks of a car do not tell everything about a car. Example, the current Accord sedan is a very unassuming, some say a bit bland looking car. But, I know my Prius drives like S%^T compared to it and that was only the 4 cylinder Accord version. The V6 would be that much better.
