Question still has not been answered?

Are you simply a Preacher on a high horse stating your opinion? Or do you practice what you preach?

-Do you drive in silence when you have passengers in your car not speaking to any of them and not allowing any of them to speak to you?

-You said "music" is ok but "talking" channels / radio / podcasts are not.?? Yeah ok.

-Do you drive with you hands at 9 and 3, never varing from that position, do you check your mirrors every 10 or so seconds? Do you use your turn signal every single Time without fail and do you check and re check your blind spots every lane change (I sure hope you do!)

-While driving have you ever adjusted you HVAC or your sun visor or etc.... Or do you safely pull over and find a spot to divert your full attention to turning down you AC 1 degree? Haha.

    Lol.

Preacher or doer? Road trips must be a joy..

    And again sorry op...

Tiny your car and drive it and enjoy it.

    A little perspective:

In 1928, two brothers, Paul V. and Joseph E. Galvin purchased a bankrupt battery eliminator company, and eventually founded a company that started putting radios into cars. Galvin Manufacturing Corporation wanted a product name for their new car radio, and created the name “Motorola” by linking "motor" (for motorcar) with "ola" - which was 1930's chic for naming a company (Cray-ola for crayons, for example.)

Soon the company became so well known for their radios that the product name became the company, until they drove it into a ditch in 2011 (punn almost unintended.)
When the Car Radio Was Introduced, People Freaked Out | Mental Floss
The point is.......when the car radio was introduced, people wigged out! Everybody presumed that the new-fangled radio thingy would cause people to drive more dangerously - and one has to remember that cars themselves were only a few decades old at this time.
    Laws were enacted.
    Laws were broken.
I think that it's safe to say that radios in cars can actually keep a driver AWAKE instead of nodding off while driving a lonely US highway at 0200 (like I was last night.) Nobody would think of trying to outlaw them in cars now.
However (comma!!!) there's a clear difference between listening to music or an audio book, and poking on Gorilla Glass!!
I ride motorcycles regularly, and nobody on this forum hates cell phone driving more than me!!!
They're WORSE than drunk drivers, because drunks at least have the feeble excuse of being chemically altered.

Texters, movie watchers, and GPS jerks just don't give a rats.
They value their convenience more than the people that they have to share the road with.

I've seen GPS lockout disablers being advertised ON THIS FORUM, and I've actually seen people trying to figure out how to put a DVD player in their dash.

One can make a case that cell phones actually make the highways and byways safer, because they give the motoring public instant and nearly continuous access to E911. I myself have used them to call the po-po more than once to report an accident, drunk, etc.
So.....cell phones are a tool that can be used for good or ill - just like the car that they're being used in.

    YMMV.
