My last Prius had an aftermarket bypass or overide thing that my ex-husband installed and I forgot to have it removed when I traded in my 2005 for my 2008. I would like to install one in the 2008 but I have no idea what that was actually called. HELP? Yes, I am blonde, but know it saved me at least 6 more mpg after it was installed and I could use that in the 2008! I used to get 52-56ish mpg in my 2005 now I only get 42-48ish.

welcome! sorry, no idea what your talking about. can you provide any more clues? no one has successfully added any modifications to the prius to make it more efficient.

you're not talking about the ev switch.

it's more likely that you have other problems with your 2008 that need addressing.

Did he get rid of the catalytic converter? I have no idea. I'd be interested to find out. Time to add your ex on Facebook? Lol

Any chance you're driving faster now, or in different conditions?

Is it the EV mod so it doesn't turn on the engine at low speeds like in a garage?
