me too, but it's the work i'd rather avoid. i know toyota doesn't want to add weight, but at least find the worst places like wheel wells.

The only way I would want to make car payments again is for a 4th Gen plug-in. But since all spy shots and Mirai influence suggest that it's gonna be nasty looking, it should be easy to resist.

Agree. The PHEV version (if that's really it) is very nasty. I like it more or less upward from the headlights line, but below those it is pure yuck factor, and far too busy and complicated to the eye. Seems they used the Blue Crab as a design influence.

The wait is over for me. I traded my 2010 Prius and 2013 RDX (almost) even for a 2015 Avalon-Touring hybrid. The ride is remarkable. Like every consideration, the Avalon is not right for everyone. But for me, it was time. Apparently, dealers have a lot more "wiggle-room" on an Avalon than other brands.

I'll continue to read this thread, because I am interested. I always thought, and wrote, the 2010 is a remarkable vehicle. I hope the G4 will even be better. The G3 sold me on Toyota's philosophy of hybrid technology. ( fuel efficiency vs acceleration).

Congrats on your purchase! The Avalon Hybrid is a great vehicle.

If that's true the Honda CR-V would be a much better buy. It's a non hybrid that already gets 27/34. But it would be really hard to walk away from seven+ years of getting mid to high 40s mpg.

Someone predicted a 50% increase with the hybrid CR-V which would put it close to 40. I know that's expecting a lot.

Perhaps the Synergy design in the Prius, which I'm so high on, doesn't translate into a heavier vehicle.

Based on what we've seen so far, that was pretty much lip service.

    Interesting article!

From a sales perspective won't a 2.5LPH HV completely cannibalise a 1.5LPH PHEV, especially with a ten grand premium and off peak green power at $0.25/kw in Aus. I don't get it.

Also, at first glance, I thought the green version would be PHEV with the sleeker front and reduced grille size.

At this point, Toyota might as well forget about the mask and reveal the real thing.

Enjoy your new car Felt. Compared to the images I am seeing of the possible Gen4 Prius, the Avalon-Touring looks much better.

A SUV's aerodynamics will hurt on the highway. Weight will hurt in the city, but more importantly weight will hurt performance. The 1.8 HSD is probably at the limit of slowness in the Prius and v for most people. Putting it in the Rav4 might get close to 40mpg, but it will be too slow to sell. So it will get the 2.5 HSD from the Camry/Avalon/NX.

But since those threads have reached 252 and 13 pages, respectively, it's not necessarily a bad idea to have another.

These renditions and 'possibe leaks' do not look like the camouflage spy shots: The hood and windshield is like a 3rd Gen.
The camouflage shots show a flatter hood and more steeply raked, sedan-like windshield, as was mentioned a couple years ago.
