Are Michelin Energy Saver A/S still the tires of choice in 2015?

Hi everyone, I'm about to pick up some new tires and seems like past threads seem to point to the Michelin Energy Saver A/S.

Problem is, most places don't seem to carry those anymore - are they being phased out?

What tires would you recommend if you were to buy a set today? For the record, I live in LA so weather isn't much of a factor. Looking for a blend of good MPG and low noise.

    Thanks!

They're not being phased out they're just popular so you might have to wait a day or a week but still worth it as far as I'm concerned I just got the energy savers and no complaints 493.00 all 4

Was at the dealership for a oil change and while waiting I went over and looked at all the new Prius Kost and also the tires the stock tires are the Goodyear Assurance where the majority now I don't know if that means anything to me it does not when I picked up mine just had Yokohamas on there I personally didn't like the Yokohama and once I started doing my homework on tires it was a clear winner which were the energy savers Michelin.. Remember you need Michelin energy saver LRR tires.
What I found was they were lightweight yet durable and great tread wear

I have 90,000 miles on my Michelin energy saver a/s tires.
They still have some miles left on them.
I will surely buy another set.
My tire store (Discount Tires) happily took back the Michelin Defenders they sold me.
The Fuel Economy lost 5 to 10 mpg with the Defenders.

After 5.5 years and +62,000 miles - My 2010 Prius III original equipment tires ..Yokohama Avid S33d ... are showing signs of tire rot on the sidewalls and the treads is wearing thin. ...

I have just ordered a set of Michelin Energy Saver All Seasons via TireBuyer.com (consumer reports rates them as a competitive source for tires) ... there is a $70 Mastercard reward card rebate for purchases made from June 22 to July 19th 2015 - supposedly Tirebuyer.com is one of them. TireBuyer.com is asking $496.28 for a set of 4 out the door - and then I am paying a local Mr.Tire shop to install them - I'll probably buy tire hazard insurance from them too if they have it ..

    Costco sells them

If anything you can buy at TireRack and have them put on by local authorized installer. TireRack has an option to schedule and have them shipped to installer.

I just got a set of the Michelin Energy Saver A/S tires at Sam's a few months ago. I love these tires. I saw an immediate 3-4 mpg increase.

I've been through 2 sets of the Avid S-33's (including the originals)... been very happy with them. Average between 55 - 58 mpg. It's now time for new tires again (2010 Prius, 138,000 miles). The tire place didn't have the S-33's in stock, but had the Michelin Energy Savers. So I hope they are just as good. Thanks for all of the insight provided on this page!

we went with the Nokian Hakka Blue this time. We live in a rainy place so we bought what we thought was the best rain and energy saving tires. The wheel noise is about the same, I think. Did we take a mpg hit? Hard to say. Possibly, but I'll know more after the summer.

There's a couple America's Tire stores in LA that carry Energy Savers.

After the initial break-in period these tires have consistently kept me above 50+ mpgs. Have the psi @ 40 front, 38 back.

I have them and they're really good. But they're not for MPG and rather for performance. I have them in my prius now and also in my audi a6.
