Prius Gs - The Prius that Toyota should be selling in the USA

There's nothing stopping you from building your own.

 

isn't it just a modded out prius? jdm or something? is that stock somewhere?

 

I think G's variants of several models are available at Toyota dealers in Japan.

Prius seems to have designers working at increasingly divergent directions, the above's not my cup of tea. The front "bumper" is a typical example of the blacked-out hourglass Toyota seems to have fallen in love with. The rims are pushing to a silly extreme, completely counter to the original fuel efficient philosophy.

And the steering wheel's on the wrong side.

 

Mixed feelings.
Some things I like.
Others I could live without.

Definitely NOT a home run look to me. I don't think it's The Prius Toyota should be selling in the USA. Even if there are some aspects I do like.

 

maybe they should do it scion like, so the youngsters can pick and choose, and us oldsters can go with beige.

 

and do tell me that Toyota is advertising this " G" model with animated dancing rats

 

The G's remix of the Prius, and other Toyata models, is the result of a collaboration between Toyota and an outfit called Gazoo Racing. That's where the "G's" designator comes from.

The Toyota "G Sports" lineup was introduced at the Tokyo Auto Salon show in 2010.

So.... I was more glued to that girl with the dress reaaaching for the G's button than the 'car' commercial. @ 0.46 seconds

 

On vacation last year at the Toyota headquarters building.



That was the day I knew I was doing a G's retrofit.

 

G's are what makes owning cars all about. Sure some see vehicles as just transportation, but why not go with a car that looks and is exciting to drive. All cars should provide the driver with excitement, visually and in driving. It's great that even thought we don't get the G's in the USA, that there are Prius owners in the USA who are building their own.

And this morning marks the first step into my G's front bumper retrofit. Finally found a front end for sale in Japan! Now, shipping cost should be burning a hole in my pocket once the warehouse gets the final estimates :/
