When I got my car a week or so ago, I also got a Tire & Wheel Protection package for $595 (see the informational brochure here), but I am not sure if the package is really worth the money (I am still in the 30 day cancellation period, so I can still cancel it). Does anyone have experience with it? Do you guys think it's worth the money? Thanks!
I knew at the time of purchase. I was undecided but ended up getting it because I knew I would be able to cancel it within 30 days.
True. 9/10 times it's a waste of money to buy any kind of extended warranties; cars or otherwise. Just another way for them to make extra money. I never got extended warranties on any vehicles I've ever owned; or anything else for that matter. If you do your research and buy quality, you should have no problems. I remember when I was buying the Prius. The lady who was in charge of offering (pushing) the extended warranties sat down, looked at the paperwork; said "oh, a Prius. I'm sure I don't want the warranty but we're obligated to explain what it covers and offer it anyway". She thanked me for listening to her pitch and left. So yeah, just be sure to cancel before that 30 days is up.
Still, there's something fundamentally infuriating, when someone insists on completing a schpiel, when they know there's no chance. And it's pretty much your last impression of the dealership, tends to last.
