The spoiler and split hatch glass clearly seen. What they need to get is a full side shot of the car.

I might have seen the disguised 2016 Prius in full cameo with white and black psychedelic plastic wrap and most of the car under a bra. This was about a week ago late at night on the 14 freeway at Mojave he turned onto the 58 freeway. It has a shark fin antannea and is a hatchback much like the above two cars. It was sporting manufacturer plates from Michigan. I tried to take a picture but the iPhone doesn't work well at night. I looked at it quite carefully and it definitely had Prius DNA. The rear of the car has had a lobotomy and although wrapped in heavy bra the car had more curvaceous sheet metal work and looks nice. Again the car was heavily disguised and he was doing 70+ mph and it gets pitch dark at night in the desert. I would say that it was obvious the manufacturer didn't want anyone to see the car.

I think the picture from Thailand is a test mule and not the real upcoming 2016 Prius.

    Darn!

Although the iPhone with Auto HDR does work well at night. (maybe not at 70mph cause the streetlights may streak).

This is very likely. I had seen test cars (not Prius, not sure what it was) in Death Valley. It is a favorite destination in summer, and they test them on climbs out of the Valley.

It might have been oncoming Hyundai Prius fighter too.

Thank you Prius for "Death valley" testing.

Today, my wife and I were in Nevada and it was 110 degrees. Thankfully, the Prius (2010) A/C was equal to the task, and we were completely comfortable.
Thanks again for the electric A/C compressor. In stop and go traffic in Vegas, the ICE shut down, but we were still comfortable. Truly, a wonderful machine. I just hope the G4 can improve on this remarkable car.

More spyshots - this seems to have a opening for a plug to the right in the picture. Are we seeing two versions of prius coming? I mean, on the different spy shots there are some subtle differences on the rear door windows in shape, Some are more rounded and some are more straight?

Compare rear door windows (the small ones at the rear). Also compare shape of hatch windows (is that the correct english term?!). Obviously these are different cars to some extent.

There is more differences than just the small rear door window. Look at the roof slope difference between the two. On the first, the roof peaks before the door pillar, then drops more sharply. On the second, the window line continue up beyond the pillar. Looks like a lot of rear seat head room.

I really have my doubts about these pictures. Several possibilities come to mind: Some of the pictures may be of the Hyundai? Some are a G3 with G4 innards; and some may be a G4. But they all reveal the split rear window will continue, in fact, in the bottom photo above, it appears to be more pronounced. If anything, the wedge shape of the second (bottom) shot is even more pronounced than the G3.

I wonder if they're gonna give the new Prius a better rear suspension. Maybe a multi link? More sound deadening to reduce road noise. More comfy seat, that's more supportive?

    iPhone ?

Here's the website as seen in "English" after translation by Google.

The equivalent 3rd generation specs would be:
So, the regular Prius dropped about 220 pounds and the PHEV dropped about 150 pounds.

The article text seems to say the 3rd gen got 37.0km / L and the 4th gen gets 40.0. This is supposedly JC08 but Wikipedia says the 3rd gen gets 32.6km on JC08 and 38km on the older 10-15 mode test. I'm not sure what to make of that.

Some of the text might imply 50km of EV range for the PHEV where I think the Japanese range for the 3rd generation was around 26.4km so maybe almost twice the EV range?

Have the alleged 4th gen pictures above been seen by folks before?

It's hard to say how credible the information is....

Here is some interesting photo from the latest Corolla Hybrid to be sold in china, and the photos might indicate what's coming on Prius Gen 4
