I purchased some led bulbs for the marker lights on the headlights and I was only able to change just 1 out of 4 bulbs I had intended to change. the problem was on the right headlight there is little room to get to the socket, I was able to remove the coolant tank and squeeze my hand to get to the bulb where the orange reflector is on the headlight itself, problem was the top bulb above the headlight, I kept loosing the bulbs inside the headlight assembly itself. Now I have to remove the damn headlight to shake the loose bulbs out. I searched online and nothing is coming up on how to remove the headlight. any help would be appreciated. I came out of this mess with a bloody left hand and only 1 led bulb installed..... Ok, I found my answer online after deep searching. I'm frustrated about my wasted time today
There's a tool you can buy that you can use to stick it in the housing and have it grab the bulb and you can just pull it out. I've used this once when I accidentally dropped it when installing the rear bulb. MERGED Grabber Tool Description and Buying Guide | Diy House Help
Thanks, I'll just remove the bumper, because I still have other bulbs to swap and I'd like to do it without bleeding.
Did the same thing and luckily had the springy grabby tool. I just took out the high beam bulb socket and fished the dropped bulb out on the first try. Beats removing the entire headlight assembly.
So after a long night operating subway trains, I come home to do this. Took me all of 1 hour and 34 minutes. Not bad for a half an amateur whose never taken a bumper off before. No left over screws or parts, and no scratches. Lost bulbs from yesterday inside headlight assembly. Had to shake them out. All Done. I'll light up the led's at night. too bright out right now.
