$360 for 120k service on a 2010....fair?

The really more difficult service here is the spark plug change, other than that, everything else is pretty simple. I think it's in line with what a dealer would charge you.

spark plugs - $40

So the labor is about $260

At 100k miles you should also have changed your engine coolant, transaxle fluid if those haven't been changed.

I'm not sure I understand your post. The imaginary part they replaced had a real part # (90916-02570) and a real part-description (Belt,V-ribbed), cost $20.68 and took an hour to replace and adjust ($107).

No belts. The ac, water pump and power steering each have electric motors in the 2010 and newer models.

The part you listed is for Gen II Prius. 2010 is Gen III. Different engine.

 

For G3, the transaxle coolant first change is at 150K miles.

Responding to the OP's question, the price is reasonable for Toyota dealer service. However there is nothing to the engine "tune-up" besides replacing the iridium spark plugs. Since the OP can replace the engine and cabin air filters, why not ask for a service price that excludes those items.

 

Engine change for $360, that's very good...

Some thoughts:

1. Spark plug change is not trivial, due to inordinate amount of disassembly needed, and the plugs are pricey.

2. You don't HAVE to replace filters at proscribed intervals, and yeah this is really a DIY item. Especially important to DIY since the dealership is more likely to just slam in a new one, regardless.

3. "Engine Tune-Up" is really meaningless, totally. License to print money, right up there with "shop supplies".

It's confusing to me, not sure if the filters were or weren't included, but assuming they weren't, I think what happened, and reasonable costs:

Oil and filter change: $60
2. Tire rotation: $20
3. Spark plug change: $150 (Assuming around $50 for plugs and an hour's labour)

If both filters were replaced, then $360 not far out of line.

 

Where exactly did they install that real belt, considering the 2010 of the thread title has no place for it? In some other car?

What do they mean TUNE UP ? I get the spark plugs , filters , oil , but Tune Up ??

 

If by 'hour' you mean ~ 200 - 300 seconds, then sure.
