Truck & SUV sales going strong.

That should give pause for serious consideration of goals & approach.

The pressure against clean & efficient vehicles is enormous.

    Approach continues to be overlooked.

They are advancing the tech through real-world rollout, but keeping it limited in scale until the capacity/cost objectives can be reached.

It's just a blog style not really adding new ideas except the poster has nice story as beta tester of PiP but he still likes big lithium batteries

Don't ever apologize for posting information, it is always better to have, rather than not have more information to base opinions on.

Congratulations to Toyota on such a good month. Bummer that the Prius family did so poorly:(

I suspect a good portion or that is simply it getting a bit long in the tooth.

Look, a guy just returned his Volt, The buyout for this 2012 Volt was $28,000(very high residual) and he declined.

The residuals are high, which is why lease deals on electrics have been such great deals.
The flip side is, buying out a lease on an electric is foolish as you can get a used EV for much less than the buyout price.

Ironically, you didn't provide anything to tell us what "poor" actually means. No detail or perspective makes opinions difficult to understand.

    Prius Sedan = 11,921
    Prius V = 3,152
    Prius C = 3,763
    Prius PHV = 727

Probably this high residual of $28,000 was before GM dropped the msrp by about $5,000. The leased Volt is probably still in very good condition, but not when new ones are advertised for about:

any poor sales results of alternative fuel vehicles are more likely due to low gas prices than anything else.

That is what I call a "Hermetic" question. The answer has to be either very simple or extremely convoluted.

Sorry, it was the same link so I didn't think it necessary.
From that same link, actually from the column immediately to the right of the data you posted...

    2015 2014 %change
    Prius Sedan. 11,921 15,944 -22.4%
    Prius V (only). 3,152. 3,567 -8.2%
    Prius C (only) 3,763 4,590 -14.9%
    Prius Phv (only) 727 2,692 -72.0%

And Bisco, yes, low gas prices are part of the reason efficient vehicles are not doing as well.
Long in the tooth models is a bigger one if you ask me.

Well, adding the remaining plug-in numbers this month will not make it to 11,921(Liftback)

seeing that prius, volt and leaf are all long in the tooth, it's tough to compare, but there are probably some holdouts, waiting for the new models. nothing else on the market you can really look at.

it just makes sense though, doesn't it? no one is talking about trying to save gas. even the government is mum. it's a bargain right now. and most are flush with stock market earnings.
