Does anyone know of a Prius C cat back system? Would the Yaris exhaust fit?

Tanabe and TRD have it. I got both but using the TRD right now. Do update the sound with your INJEN once you install =)

If anyone knows they are not talking. It seems such a simple question. I work nights so I can't call a mfg during the day.

I sent messages to the people selling on eBay because they are actually a Toyota dealer selling the part and I figured they would know best. I also saw somewhere that a guy put the Yaris TRD muffler on his 2012 Scion XB and it didn't fit right but he took it to a muffler shop and they put the hangers from the stock muffler on it and then it fit pretty much perfect. I'm surprised because Prius c, Scion XB and the Yaris are all basically the same car except for the hybrid setup. I'm sure it will fit as long as I take it to a muffler shop and have them fit it properly. I'm going to do a little research first before I actually buy it. When I find out any info I will post

I'm going to take one for the team, lol. I'm going to buy the TRD muffler for Yaris/ Scion XB since they are both pretty much the same cars. When I get it installed I will give an update and I'll take a video of the sound as well. image.jpg

Here is the link. The guy has a bunch of them. I will let you know how it fits.

image.jpg image.jpg Well, I got the muffler today. At 6:30 tonight my guy will be installing that and my Injen CAI. I will post pics latter tonight with it installed. And I will let you know how it fits and sounds. image.jpg

Ok, so here is the bad news. The pipe on the TRD muffler for the Scion XB is 2 1/2" and the Prius C is about an inch to 1 1/4". The flange is about 90 degrees around so it won't bolt on. Either I sell it or bring it to a muffler shop and have them fabricate a reducer and flange and make it work or continue to see what's available. I want something that won't be too loud. It's a shame because this muffler looks awesome. I'll decide by the end of the weekend. On a better note I installed the Injen cold air intake and there is a noticeable power increase. The engine is louder especially at WOT. I know TRD did make a muffler for the Aqua/ Prius C but finding one is becoming impossible

Did everything else fit? Hanger in the right spot? angle of the exhaust tip clear the body etc? Any halfway good exhaust shop could have that installed in 30 minutes if the reducer is the only hold up.

From what I see the hanger is in the right spot and the tip will clear the body but that's from what I can see. I pretty much put it up right next to the muffler. Yes, a muffler shop will make it fit with no problems. I just couldn't believe that the Prius C exhaust is 2" and after the converter it reduces down to about an inch to 1 1/4"! Why would Toyota do that? To me that would be robbing power but must be a reason for it. I did find the right TRD muffler designed for Prius C/ Aqua BUT it's a very hefty price. It goes for $714 from what I see so far plus shipping from Japan.

So then, what Yaris model will fit? I see it written all the time but no examples.

I have a Tanabe exhaust on mine from a Yaris hatch. I think it's like '07-'11 that work. Not 100 percent sure on the year range, but it has to be for the hatch, not sedan. Mine bolted right up.

What you guys need to remember is that even if the frame is shared, bodywork can be different and exhaust may be routed differently or at least somewhat different as you have a different motor. Also, hybrids are known for having ultra quiet exhausts, so they will be different.

Now, interesting about the Injen intake. There are now 3 people I know of on here that have posted about it and all seem to report a nice gain in power. That coincides with the dyno numbers I've seen for the intake. It is tempting. I may have to get one. BUUTT, I am concerned about the volume. If you could elaborate more on the sound and how audible it is from inside the car I'd be interested in knowing. Thx in advance. =)

I've got gobs of $$$ into my Subaru WRX and really hadn't planned on modifying my Prius C beyond rims, tint, and replacing the 12V battery with a Li Ion battery to save an additional 20lbs in addition to the 41lbs saved by removing the spare, cargo cover, jack, carpet and the 23lbs I saved with lighter wheels/tires.
