As a note, they don't have an application listed for the Gen3 Prius - but do for some other models. The generic round 3.25" ones work fine though....

Hardwired a new Dashcam (Street Guardian SG9665GC) today through my HomeLink mirror.

This way if any other golf cart windshields come flying at me on the highway I'll be ready! The dashcam is pretty discreet. You can kind of see the upside down T (from the tape used to hold it in place) to the right of the mirror bracket in the black dot region but you can't see the camera itself easily. I still need to swap out the white velcro my EZpass which you can see easier. I have the GPS for the cam mounted in the top left (passenger side) which you can just make out. But all wires are hidden nicely.

 

Great choice with the SG dashcam.
I got a generic A118C when they first came out and am pleased with it. The SG came out a little later and uses a better chip in the same form factor, I know the Sony chip on the SG gives much clearer night video.
Oh... I used the same hardwire kit, but tapped behind the dash.

 

So u jus t-tapped to the Homelink?

I didn't actually t-tap it. I just added a pin to the wire. I have a post here outlining it though.
