Baked the headlights and went for it. Blacked out some stuff behind the bumper as well. NOT the radiators and coolers though.

[IMG] i'm pretty happy with the results. I'd say they're 8.5-9.0 out of 10 or so. Stoked I didn't really f**k anything up.

It's sound deadening time. My 120 sq' of MurderMat had arrived. I started with the rear hatch, then the doors, and finally the interior. I applied MurderMat on both panels of the doors, inner and outer. I was very meticulous about covering as much as reasonably possible, and because of the generous thickness of the deadener, only needed a single layer. I had enough to cover everything except for under the rear seat and battery area, and rear seat foot area. About another 16 sq' would be needed for this. The butyl MurderMat was quite easy to apply and to work with. I highly recommend it.

The hatch is stripped down and ready to start.

First the outer skin, then reinstalled some parts. sd2.jpg

Finished inner panel. The 4 side doors were finished the same way, covering both inner and outer panels.
    sd3.jpg

To remove the headliner, the rest of the interior needed to be removed.
    sd4.jpg

And there it is, all neatly stacked after removal.
    sd5.jpg

This is the roof. The pic was taken with camera positioned by the dash, looking upwards and to the rear. The black bar at the top is the rear support bar for the sunroof.
    sd6.jpg

    Almost finished...
    sd7.jpg

    Front area.
    sd8.jpg

This was taken from the front seating area, looking into the rear seating and battery area. I was unable to apply deadening because I ran out of material. I figure that 16 more feet would have been needed.
    sd9.jpg

And yes, it is all reassembled and everything works fine. (Whew!!!)

How difficult is the headliner to remove? Any tips? Thanks.

Overall, it wasn't too bad. The most challenging things were disconnecting some of the electrical connections, and the removal of some of the components that hold the headliner in place. Several fasteners have a unique way for removal. The plastic coverings from the kick panels (located at each door, just above the carpet), all the way up to the headliner need to be removed. The dash stays untouched.
My best tip is that I used an online coupon for a 2 year subscription with Alldatadiy for $12.95. I referred to it quite a bit. It also helped that I have former experience working on Toyotas.

What's that Amber lens on high beam and how did you just paint the chrome part of front emblem?

I thought it's reflecting the yellow color from a yellow highbeam bulb. But I see now he has an LED bulb in there. So it's reflecting the yellow color from the LEDs, or there is possibly a coating of clear yellow tint sprayed on the highbeam reflector. The cover is still clear.

Looks yellow tint on the high beam reflector.
    Effect is very cool!

And I'm guessing the front bumper come off to remove the headlight housings...

    Thanks!

It's yellow chrome paint on the inside of headlights. My brother paints headlights, so he did them for me. He has a WRX and did his that way, and I liked the look.

As far as the emblem, it's black Plasti Dip.

Bulb inside is LED but produces no yellow effect. Good eye. Haha. That part of the headlight is painted with yellow chrome paint.

The front bumper was completely removed to pull the headlights.
