My 2005 Prius has been leaking coolant since I got it about 6 months ago (although it has been off the road about 4 of those). I have replaced the water pump, thermostat and the thermostat housing. The leak comes from the left side of the engine near the thermostat as opposed to the right side with the inverter. I think I jave finally seen the leak in action, I saw a small bubble of liquid, I assume coolant, coming out of a part I cant identify. I have attached a pic and circled the part. Any help identifying the part and or fixing the leak is greatly appreciated.
That is the NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS PIPE. Perhaps the gasket is bad? I've attached the pdf for your review.
Awesome! thanks so much, looks like the gasket part number is 16258 21020. Im gonna order one tonight. The coolant it coming out right where it bolts on the engine.
