    right! lol.

Ill take the heavily discounted deal on a tried and true leftover gen 3 over the unknown (I mean really unknown as in we know nothing for sure) of the gen 4.

…….waiting to get BLOWN AWAY as the Marketing staff so eloquently put it. Haha!

Actually, it may be best to skip the first two model years of a new generation, maybe three if one can wait. Why?

It was the 2012, 3rd model year of Prus 3G that got
    1) upgraded bumper - I've looked at the front bumpers of 2010 vs. 2012 and the 2012 is sturdier. The plastic grill insert in the 2010/11 has some cheesy mount tabs. 2012's is a solid, sturdy piece,

    2) All 2012 trims have some sort of touchscreen. Three's get 3 door smart key. Had to get 2010 Four to get 3 door SKS.

    3) 2012's got the upgraded engine mount and revised intake (manifold?) to eliminate the knocking some experienced on cold start after brief start.

    4) and if one just had to have a power driver's seat (10 way adjustable) that did not arrive until 2012. In 2010/11 the best one could get is 6 way manual with 2 way power lumbar, even in the $34k Prius V (Five)

Sounds like the vast majority of the car buying public.

Is that front bumper the same as on the 2015? I notice the bottom of the front air dam sticks out like a tongue. Since our 2015 is Sea Glass Pearl, I told my wife that the front of our car looks like a frog with a bad attitude.

    Yup.

Well it might be an illusion since they simply added piano black plastic to the ends of the lower air dam to make it look like a lip.

I can't see how the deals could get much better than they are now. Just got the wife a 15 Prius two for 21,500 out the door.

What do you mean $700 dealer fee?
Never bought a new car and now I'm seriously thinking about it with a new Prius

Question: Has Toyota ever offered this $2,000 rebate in the past on Pirus? Also, can I get 0% financing with the $21k-22k OTD price?

If you look at the link in post #73 you will see that the dealer charges a $700 fee, but that is clearly disclosed on the dealer's website. Still a very good net price.

In Tucson, AZ, I paid $21.3K prior to state sales tax and license fees, for a 2015 Prius Two at the end of March. For that price, it was equipped with the lower chrome door molding and floor mats/cargo mat from the manufacturer, and the dealer installed window tint and a blinking third brake light. That price is net of the $1,750 TMS USA rebate in effect last month.

State of Florida allows dealers to charge up to $700.00 for Documentation fee/dealer prep of the vehicle. Some dealers do not charge this fee at all.

Also, Look out for registration fee. I would discuss these fees in advance, or get an everything-included, OTD(out the door)prior to just adding taxes.

Maybe someone who doesn't want to spend $23k out the door for a Two, then 6 months from now they are looking at photos of the 4th gen Prius and kicking themselves seeing a car that smokes what they got and starts at $24.5k sticker?

    Er somepin like that.

The 2015 has been proven reliable. 2016? Well that should be reliable with lots of bugs to work out

agreed. out the door is different in every state, so i would say someone who would rather spend an extra $4-5,000. for the exciting new unproven version than the old boring reliable one.
