Prius c disappointments

    I was being slightly sarcastic, but still it can be perky in power mode. oh wait,, the Prius c doesn't have that! Lol

    And yes, it doesn't sale all that great anymore due to being so "old" over 5 years old by now, and low gas prices, and like you said, other vehicles

    the difference btw Power, Normal and Eco modes is the sensitivity of gas pedal. Even in Eco mode all "performance" available - you just have really push pedal to the metal. Our 2010 Gen3 doesn't have EV button, and it is not missed, really. You just need to shut throttle for a sec to switch into EV mode. Similarly in C to start eye popping acceleration you have to really nail it to the floor, the 11.2sec 0-60mph run was done in Eco mode.

    Most of ICE cars have very little difference btw 90% and 100% accelerator. Actually in pre-drive-by-wire age you were better off not pushing 100% at lower RPMs and stalling engine. In Prius? it is just an on/off switch. 13.7sec 0-60 is what happens if you treat it as regular car.

    Oh, shucks .. I though that when this gauge goes into orange (marked PWR), the car is in the power mode. I should install a fake POWER button somewhere[​IMG]

    My apologies, as I don't know much about the Prius C. I am new to Prius - this is my first one; I'm being sincere in my posts. Not trying to upset anyone.

    Power mode is for a more responsive throttle.. Hints the more perky accleration. Anyway we obviously have different opinions, let's leave it at that

    With the hill you are having difficulty with, try to really nail it to the floor.

    Eco mode also changes how much is reported as orange.

    I believe when both buttons are off it's in (unheralded) "normal" mode, pedal response somewhere between ECO and PWR, if it's similar to the hatchback.

    For the first few months of ownership I kept in ECO, but got tired of all the exercise my right leg was getting, switched off, went with "normal". PWR doesn't really interest me.

    In the main, ALL ECO and PWR do is change gas pedal response. And maybe a little behind the scene tweaking of AC and (possibly) Cruise Control behaviour.

    These buttons are for show, not really sure I feel any difference. But then I seem to drive my car easy!

    You don't feel any difference?! Really?? In Eco mode, I put the pedal to the floor and it moves along as normal, but if I put it in PWR and don't move my foot, it rockets forward...love it!!!
