The soundproofing at the firewall has been rolled back and the floor soundproofing removed. Any soundproofing in the headliner and cargo area was already out when I bought the car. The doors were already off then too.

Used the dimensions I measured on the cars to do a cad drawing at lunch time. I needed to see how the two bodies best align. Just laying the Firebird door sills on top of the Prius v sills would make the car look stupid tall (like a freaked-out 4x4.) I adjusted things until I was happy where things landed. The blue is the v. The orange is the Firebird body. The final height will be approximately the same as the original Firebird, or possibly a little lower!

I'm going to lose part of the back seat area, but that's OK. I only plan to have a retriever ride back there anyway. I will create a full rain cap to go over the HV Battery considering what will be around it.

The full v side sills will remain. The bottoms of the Firebird sills will be cut away to nestle over them, then a new flare panel will be added. The final welded structure should be stronger than either car individually.

    This should work out well.

...and MUCH More. I think in 3D and can see designs before they are built inside my mind. That (and some good luck) is how I got my 6 patents.

The wheels will be available in a year or two once I know what offset I need on the Rally-II's. I originally had the idea of swapping them onto the Gen-III, but the bolt pattern is different.

In case any of you ever wanted to see what the structure INSIDE your Prius v looks like, here are a couple of examples:

Just downloaded these from my wife's cell phone. I guess as Neanderthals go I'm photogenic enough. Gotta work on that Santa tummy though...
