While my car is having the XM and tint Installed I get a rental car for the day. I need a tetanus shot burn my clothes and a bleach bath! I picked it up while it was dark out and didn't see this until I got to work. iPhone ?
Hopefully, the rental agency will be interested to hear how poorly their car was prepared, and how dissatisfied you are with their service. If that doesn't work, internet shaming seems to be gaining considerable ground these days.
That is bad! I also hate to rent a car. I am afraid I will get stuck with a bill from the car rental company for crap similar to this.
And we still have discussions on this board on why you wouldn't want to buy a rental car? Yeccccccccccccchhhhhhhhhhh.
But usually they carefully clean and detail their "For Sale" automobiles. So you never see this. I think rental car companies must be getting lazy. Last time I was forced to rent, the car given to me looked like it had just finished a coast to coast road trip. I did complain but was told they could clean it, but I'd have to wait a couple of hours. I didn't have the time so I just took it. This seems to be happening more and more. Maybe it's just he demands on rental car companies to keep customers in vehicles. But this level of unclean and maintenance really is pretty bad. Does make you at least wonder, if they whip the horse to this point in keeping the vehicle in service, as far as interior and cosmetics, then YES how much do you trust that they are doing the proper physical maintenance? If they aren't pulling the car from service long enough to keep it "Pee Free"....then am I really to trust they are keeping an eye on proper maintenance? To the OP. I don't usually recommend complaining in most incidences, but in this one? I might really complain. You shouldn't have a rental car that makes you feel like you need hand sanitizer every time you drive it, or get into it. That's really poor.
I drive a company Prius. With Big Bell, there's never going to be an issue with somebody buying the car after I'm done with it because the car will either be 20 years old, or have 300,000 miles on the odometer before they sell it. ...literally! There is NO WAY I would EVER consider buying a car that was used commercially in it's previous life unless it's priced the same as a salvage title car. PERIOD. Nothing handles like a rental car!
Like hotel and motel rooms that are "cleaned" by housekeeping maid service, rental cars a just glossed over to look good. they are NOT really cleaned and disinfected. To most people appearance is reality. NOT!
So on my drive back to the dealership to pick up my car I not only felt skeezed out but I couldn't run the A/C. The car idled roughly and if I turned on the A/C it would get worse. 88 degrees, high humidity, no tint and no A/C. I was so happy to get my car back!
Nope. It was an actual rental car from Enterprise. It also had Alabama plates. I wonder if that might have something to do with it?
