Just purchased a 2011 Prius package II and I am looking for recomendations for an iPod/iPhone adapter that I can either hide inside the glove compartment or middle console. I have it now plugged into the AUX jack but I am looking for something that I can use the steering wheel to control it. Also I have to left hands , so if there is anything out there easy to install it would be helpful for me. Thanks for any feedback!
I haven't updated the description properly yet, but the DICE works in the 2011 Prius. It's cheaper than the Toyota solutions. Thanks man! it seems it works with the Navigation screen or Satellite radio and my car doesn't have either.
Check out this thread for the USA Spec, but you may want to verify with someone whether it's the PA15 or PA20 that will work with your setup. Oh and congrats on your new acquisition! :welcome:
Does anybody knows if this works on the Package II and if it is any good or easy to install? PriusChat Shop : 2010 Toyota Prius OEM iPod Interface Integration Kit [PT545-00082] - $209.99
We've got the GROM USB/iPod/iPhone Interface for the RAV4 and am just ordering it for the Prius 3 as well. After a few start problems, GROM sent me new files to flash the unit. Great customer service! Now it works for USB devices and the iPhone without any problem, sound an quality is great. Toyota / Scion / Lexus GROM USB/iPod car interface adapter
Thanks man. The issue here is I have Package II and I do not have the Nav screen. So my understanding the link you sent won't work.
No, they work with the standard radios too. This due the fact that the GROM units only simulate a CD-changer. On your USB Stick you may create 6 folders that represent the 6 CDs the radio can handle. Then you can place 99 MP3 tracks in each folder. On your radio you will see CD and Track and using Random skip and all other functions, but I doubt wou will see any ID3 tags. That's the case with our older NAV HU in the RAV4 as well. To make sure your HU works just drop them an email.
I have a LIGHTLY used OEM kit for sale. I ended up using a different solution that allowed for iThings and Satellite reception. Private message me if you are interested. The part number is pt545-00082 for reference.
Can anyone send or link to a picture of the rear of a standard Prius head unit, showing where the 12 pin connector goes ? And can anyone explain has both how the iPod control, talking through the GROM and the 12-pin connector, AND the steering wheel controls can both work at the same time ? Do the steering wheel control separately talk through the data bus ?
