Hella Supertone install today

    I think we all know our stock horns are junk. I cannot count how many times I've had people almost run me off the road because they can't see or hear me. Today I installed the Hella supertones. As you can see in the picture I posted there are perfect mounting holes in the chassis behind the grill for both horns. I grounded the new horns to the old horn mounting bolt.

    I can get get into more details if you like and more pictures as well. There is enough room down there for another set of horns. I'm very tempted to add them.

    All in all with the stock horn removed and the Supertones installed, my C is a screaming machine when I mash the horn. I am very pleased with the sound and loudness.

    I swapped out my stock horns for OEM Lexus Premium horns. The Lexus horns are much louder then stock. Stock is only one horn and the lexus is 2 horns.

    I installed a Wolo Bad Boy Air Horn which is very loud. Definitely get peoples attention.

    Where did you place the Wolo? In the original location? Did you upgrade the wiring?

    I have a bracket on the front center of the engine compartment near the hood latch. I did not upgrade the wiring and have had it on there for 2 years now with no problems.

    I figured why not just add the relay that came with the Supertones. It may or may not have made a difference right now but if I go forward with installing an additional pair for a total of 4 horns then I'll be glad I have the relay.

    Plus with the current set up I have, I didn't have to modify the factory harness to accommodate the 2nd horn.

    When the rain stops I'll post some install pictures and a video of the horn sound.

    Nice. I would love to see a picture. I might upgrade to the Wolo horn someday.

    When I upgraded from stock horn to dual Lexus horns, I just used the original wiring without a relay. I also had to splice another connector from the OEM wire. But for 4 horns, I would use a relay without a doubt.

    i did the same but sickspeed !!! i dont like how it sound but just the look !!!

    I have Sickspeed horns sitting in my garage, waiting to be installed. Why don't you like how they sound? Are they not louder than stock?

    Are they dual tone (hi/lo)? If they aren't, that may be the reason.

    yeah they are dual tone, but it kinda sound like a go kart

    Mine are in. I'd recommend the Sickspeed. I like how they look and sound. (They don't come green. I painted them that color.)
