Just an update for everyone: I placed my order through KeylessRide on Monday, March 9, and received it today, Wednesday, March 11. I live in central Oklahoma and the company shipped from Georgtown, Texas, which is about six hours away drivetime. It explains why it got here so quickly. I'll see if I have time Friday to get it programmed. I was told it takes about an hour for the entire process.
You probably knew about this but ask the tech to remove your "lost" key out of the system just in case.
Whoever has that lost key has total access to your car. I don't think it's a big deal but it's so easy to remove it from the system. At least that's what I read and had mine done the same.
When our second fob was missing last night I emailed our local dealership, asking about cost for fob replacement. This number likely about the usual, in Canada, in Canadian dollars: The transmitter and key (cut to code) Is $372.40 plus taxes
Alright, an update for you all! I finally had a chance to get the key cut and everything programmed by Key Experts in Oklahoma City. It took them about 30 minutes and was $45 out-the-door like I was previously quoted. Total investment is $201. And, best yet, it all works! I'll likely have a third made just in case.
