This is not a optical vision issue. I have perfect vision and have no problem driving other cars. I can not longer drive my Prius at night as I cant see unless I use my brights. I'm thinking about trading it in if this cant be fixed.

Please do not drive with your "brights" which I assume are your high beams in traffic. You're blinding other drivers. I see this quite often and is very irritating.

As mentioned previously in this thread, upgrade to a quality aftermarket HID kit, or do the H9 bulb conversion where you substitute 65w H9 halogen bulbs for the 55w H11 halogen bulbs (link in my signature below). You will get approximately 50% more light by doing this mod, and the H9 bulbs are much cheaper than so called premium H11 halogen bulbs like PIAA and Silverstar Ultras/etc. A good set of H9 bulbs (Philips/Osram) should cost around $20 a pair.

You can read reviews on Amazon under Philips H9 bulbs from various owners who have done this mod.

Please see T-SB-0204-12 and you will see that there is an anomaly in the engineering of the lighting wiring harness. On one very dark night both low beam lights malfunctioned in my wife's 2011, October build prius 3 in which she could have been killed. We had low beam light failures since day 2 of ownership and were not told about this T-SB by anyone at Toyota. Thankfully I learned of this dangerous problem in a posting on PRIUS CHAT. I immediately requested that our Toyota dealer perform the required repair and the repair was completed soon after that request.

I of course dim them when oncoming traffic appears, but I can't refrain from driving at night for ever. Went to dealer and told my lights are specific for the Prius.

i assume some priuses are defective, as mine with the stock projector lamps is better than all the other cars I have or had (with reflector lamps). if one suspects a problem it could be easily compared to a similar car.
i also don't like driving in dark anymore, but this is aging and not a problem with a specific car.

I am going to say that my Gen2 factory HID lights were leaps and bounds better over my stock whatever are in my 2012 Prius Two. I use my high beams a LOT at night now, whereas my Gen2 HID's were always more than bright enough.
Im not saying I miss my HID's.... they had their quirks for sure, but I might be adding different bulbs/HID's onto my Gen3 one day....
