I can't find anything on the web at all, no news when the car is coming out or anything. Anyone have any ideas?

I copied and pasted my response from the other gen4 thread…

I was at the Philly car show yesterday too. The custom car "DUB area" was pretty cool.

Now take this with a grain of salt because I took the train into the city and we had a few pints before heading into the show...

The two toyota reps I believe stated to me when I asked them about the Gen4 prius that the Detroit auto show will be the unveiling?? Detroit was last month, so does this make any sense? 11 more months till the unveil….

Like I said not sure if I heard them right but they wouldn't give any other info that I recall..

    :)

It's a bit long, but consider the Rav4: Previous gen came out for 2006 model year. The new one came out for 2014 model year (or was it 2013?) Either way, 7 to 8 model years for the generation and tons of people were waiting for it to lose its swing to right rear door and tire mounted on it.

Longer than 2004-2009 was for the G2?

The G3 is a pretty good platform, and a lot of the low hanging fruit has already been plucked.
Non-recurring engineering costs take a while to recoup and they've been mesmerized lately by fuel cells/TRD which probably makes them more money.
I'd look for either a 2016 release depending on whether or not they're going to start building Priuses somewhere else.

At least we're not wondering if there will BE a G4.......

    ........are we?

If it's anything like the gen III reveal it will follow occasional non-descript pictures of little features/elements that are not helpful in the least . . . . but they'll still get posted just to make sure you keep trying to find out something. After that borage - it'll still take a couple more weeks at least.

I might be tempted to do the same if not for the loan on my C not maturing for another 3 years (assuming I take the 2 months off the loan payment my CU extends every year, as I have been doing for the last 3 years). If I get a hybrid plug-in, it must have at least a 20-mile range.

Someone should start a "What car show will the Gen4 Be revealed at?" poll!

It would be interesting to look back -in a year and a half from now when they start hitting the lots ;) - and see who was right and how long toyota procrastinated.

Any one up for making the poll. I would but have no idea how to.

I just don't understand the why the 2016 Prius is such a secret. The 2016 Volt was at the 2015 Portland Oregon Auto Show when I was
    there but no 2016 Prius.

We purchased our 2010 Prius in May of 2009, you would think that the 2016 Prius would at least be at the auto shows and on the dealers lots by at least mid summer. Someone out there has the answer why info on the 2016 Prius is kept tightly wrapped.....
