I remember recently there was an individgule bicycle racer that against all odds including medical miracles, beat everyone else in the world in a world caliber race series, nine times.
Turns out he cheated, drugs, steroids to be exact, I'm just mentioning this as his use was invisible to others, his suppliers invisible and the money involved...astronomical, hmmm.

ESPN is not the most reliable source of sports information, but occasionally they have good stuff. Look at the teams that make the playoffs. They are good in these areas

• Owner
• General Manager
• Head coach
• Quarterback

The Patriots were solid in all four when Scott Pioli was GM (Belichick is the effective GM now) In contrast, if you look at the New York Jets at the end of this season, they were 0-4 in the above categories - 1-3 if you think Rex Ryan was just in a bad situation.

 

i feel bad for buffalo, it's just one nightmare after another. on top of the weather.

 

LOL, i just think they deserve better than rex ryan, i don't know if it's the ownership, gm or what. there should be a silver lining to snow clouds. i suppose the ice fishing is decent.

The Oakland A's started sabremetrics about the same time Bill Belichick did something similar with managing the NFL salary cap - most bang for the buck. The reverse is Denver paying Peyton Manning a wad of money and more to players around him to win some thing now.....NE's approach is more sustainable.

Patriot fans should enjoy this nice long ride - historically it may be ending soon. I hope Belichick in a few years will step down as head coach and remain as General Manager to pick a coaching staff that will continue to do what he did. And pray a Jerry Jones type does not become owner of that team.

Seattle might be the next great team....trying to figure if they have returned to the level they did when they beat Denver in the SB and it was more they were great than Denver just choked. Seahawks have youth and good management on their side.

 

i think seattle has a great team. same with green bay. it's hard to figure how good though, based on the schedule. we'll know in 1-3 weeks.

 

that was an interesting game, i didn't expect to see seattle struggle so much at home, against a gimpy qb. at least they pulled it out in the end.

 

I knew Kearse was going to win the game. It's just how these things play out.

 

yes, i was thinking the same thing, but i didn't want to say it before it happened.

 

i saw bob kraft videotaping the colts defense and sending hand signals to belechick. otherwise, the colts would have won this one. no way could the colts have creamed denver, and folded like a cheap suit otherwise.
