2010 package V (Uppercase V, not five, since its a 2010 and Roman numerals were used during model year 2010 to denote model) ith 40k miles. Still under Toyota extended warranty. We got 43 mpg this time last year. I think it got worse after the IPM recall which involved a complete inverter replacement for us. We drive mostly in the suburbs. We have 17" wheels so that is -2mpg for those. Air filter is new. Any ideas?

    thanks

Did your inverter fail when you brought it in? I noticed this year my gas mileage has decreased a little too. Maybe the cheaper gas this year gives less mpg?

We had the recall software update done in March and then the inverter failed in July. It took 2+ months to get the part in and we did not get the car back until Sept.

    thanks

If the 12 V battery has never been changed, you are about due.
I would start there, whether it tests "good" or not.

That is probably a good idea anyway. We are on our 3rd one for the 06 Lexus RX400h and they go without warning.

My mpg has been going down lately also. However, I think it is the $1.92 per gallon gas I am putting in it now---- and running lots faster in the interstate.........

We had the inverter protection update with no ill effect. But there's been a lot of reports here of marked mpg loss post-update. Maybe the software used for the update is buggy?

i think it must be, because cars that weren't part of the recall, (i assume they had updated inverters) aren't showing decreased mpg's. i wonder what would happen if they compared two cars on the epa dyno test?

brake pads and slide pins may need attention. but dealer will wait till they are all screwed up before doing anything.
